Amazing location and amenities
I booked a standard room as a Titanium member. About a day before check in I noticed that I was upgraded to a club room.
The room itself was clean, roomy, and great. The height and location provided excellent views of Nagoya. I cannot comment on the bathroom as this hotel has a public bath which is complimentary for elite members. I think it was Platinum and above. Either way, I partook of that benefit every day of my stay. Access requires you to go down to the lobby and transfer to the dedicated elevator to the bath and spa area but I didn't mind this detour.
The hotel is about as centrally located as possible. It's located above the JR Nayoya Station and is absolutely perfectly located for sightseeing in Nagoya, the surrounding area, or even as a layover in Nagoya if you're only around for a day.
I was on the floor below the Elite lounge and it was interesting to see that they have a dedicated staircase for members to easily and quickly get to the lounge. Evening cocktail service always had some delicious food options so I was satisfied by this. Breakfast was also good however it was interesting to note that this hotel does not provide the option of the breakfast in the lounge or the main restaurant. It is either the lounge or a discount at the lobby restaurant. This wasn't a problem, just an observation.
The nice room, excellent location, club lounge, public bath, and all benefits taken as whole lead me to say that I think this is the best hotel I've stayed at in Nagoya so far. The location is unbeatable, the benefits are excellent, and while TIAD Autograph Collection may have more luxurious rooms, I think the package as a whole here at the Nagoya Marriott Associa puts it ahead in my opinion.

If you need a base to explore Nagoya or a short train ride away this is a great hotel the reception is on the 15th floor and the rooms are up from there love this hotel

Obviously, this is a US based-hotel group operating in Japan - many of the great niceties and nuances of a Japanese hotel are missing or are off-the-mark. In particular the Sky Lounge was far from being a good value...

Very bad experience
Extremely disappointed with the lack of flexibility and hospitality for premium guests at this property. We arrived at 12:25 for a 14:00 check-in. Knowing we would be early, we purposely paid a significant premium for rooms with Concierge Lounge access. At almost every other club-level hotel in the world, early arrivals are welcomed to wait comfortably in the lounge until their room is ready. Not here. The staff rigidly refused us entry, took our bags, and told us to wander around until exactly 14:00. If you expect standard international luxury hospitality or any common-sense flexibility to rest after a long trip, look elsewhere. Rules are rules here, with zero empathy shown to premium guests.

Used as a stepping stone to Kyoto
I used it for one night on a Bon excursion. I originally intended to take a hotel near an art museum in Kyoto, but when I was having trouble because the price was outrageous and there were almost no vacancies, I thought, "If I'm supposed to drive from Mateyo Nagoya, maybe I can have a good experience for the price."
First, I had a hard time finding a parking lot. It may be because it is located next to the station building.
We arrived late, so we had steak in the in-room dining room for dinner. It was very good. Also use the gym before meals. It's a bit small, but there are very few users, so I'm not complaining. Breakfast is also a complaint (maybe even if I say it's hard to tell the difference because I have a continental breakfast at every hotel).
The total price was just over 50,000 yen. I think you got a good service for the price because you are staying in search of good service.
The guests are mostly Japanese for a foreign hotel. It was nice to have a calm atmosphere.
