The power of nature and the warmth of man.

I have been with Starlight Terrace Teruya for about four years now. I searched for a place to heal for my family who was feeling unwell and found this inn. The owner's mother and father provide warm hospitality, Kourijima's rich and powerful plants, the wide blue sky, the vivid emerald green sea, the countless stars shining at night, and the shooting stars. Taking a walk with my dog Lin is one of the fun things. My family is better now and I can see them smiling. Every time I go, my heart is cleansed and I feel very refreshed & relaxed.

Excellent service from the heart

Proud to be the first Singaporeans staying in this hotel! Our room was really clean and cosy - even the bedsheets smelled fresh and every single detail was well-planned. There’s a terrace on the top of the hotel for stargazing - the owner saw some shooting stars the night we stayed. Unfortunately we were out for dinner and missed it. The owner made us feel really at home. Would definitely recommend this place if you’re planning to stay on Kouri Island! (Food options may be limited at night and in the early morning on Kouri Island itself so do check the opening hours of the restaurants before you go).

アットホームな雰囲気 Great guesthouse!!

私は9月上旬に沖縄にバックパックをするために来ました。それもほとんど衝動で…そのため予定はほぼ何も決めておらず、古宇利島へ来たのも橋が綺麗だからという理由だけで、ふら〜っとやって来ました笑
ところが、橋の近くの"shrimp wagon"という店のお姉さんから、良いゲストハウスがあると聞き、急遽、このゲストハウス 照家(ちなみに"てぃーらー"と呼びます)に宿泊させて頂くことになりました。
いま振り返ってみても、ここに泊まれたのは大当たりだったなと感じています。急な宿泊にも関わらず、暖かく迎えてくださったことはもちろんのこと、この宿の持つアットホームな雰囲気が何よりも良く、落ち着いた日々を送ることができました。それを作り出しているのは、宿主であるおばちゃん、おじちゃん、そして看板犬のりん君のおかげなのかなと思います。
このゲストハウスは、宿主のおじちゃんが元々倉庫だったのを手作りで宿に作り変えたそうです。他にもBBQスペースだったり、お客さんが喜ぶんじゃないかというものを2人で考えては、作っているみたいです。彼らのお客さんに対する思いやりが、この暖かいアットホームな雰囲気を作ってるんだろうな、と思います。もちろん、りん君もそれを担っています。
ゲストハウスの位置は島のほぼ真ん中頂上で、昼はサトウキビ畑の間から見える海、夜は満点の星を庭から眺めることができます。嬉しいのはWi-Fiがあることです。
ここが、沖縄を満喫するのに最適なのは間違いない場所です。
I write about this guesthouse in English. Because I want you to feel real Okinawa and this guesthouse will give you a satisfaction. If you come Okinawa, you should visit this guesthouse "照家"(thi-ra) in Kouri island. You will get great experience.
You can feel real Okinawa in this guesthouse. It is because many opportunity meeting country people and there is in so many nature. You can see a beautiful ocean through the sugar corn field in the daytime and also seeing the whole sky from this garden in the night. It is possible as this guesthouse is in central of this island that is mountain. Of course you can go for swimming easily in the beach. And what I recommend more than anything else is hospitality of a married couple as owner. They are very kindly. You will be able to enjoy thank to them. Actually if you stay another hotel or an inn, you will send to enjoy in Okinawa. But your memory in Okinawa will be commonplace. If you come this guesthouse, at first, mascot (dog), Lin, welcome you and you will be treated by owner. In this place, having a BBQ, this place is made by owner, chatting to them about this island and information other tourist resorts.... anyway you will enjoy there. I love this place.
You should try to stay this guesthouse!!

こんにちは　出会いというのは本当に不思議ですね。
偶然古宇利島に来たり、シュリンプワゴンであったり、色々な偶然が重なりあって色々な方たちと知り合うことができるのは、私たちがゲストハウスを始めたことです。
主人は島の真ん中の辺鄙なところでお客様も来ないと言いながら、納屋を宿に変身？してくれました。
少しでもお客様にくつろいでいただけるよう、これからも頑張っていこうと思っております。

お風呂はユニットバスで狭いですが、部屋は綺麗に清掃させていたので快適に過ごせました。(寝るだけでしたが)
名護市方面が明るいので、それほど綺麗な星空ではありませんが、都会出身の方には喜ばれるレベルではあったと思います。
晴れていたので流れ星を見ることができたので感動しました。

在岛中央的一户农家。
房间布置的温馨又干净，老太太是一位70岁以上的老人家。很热情，喜欢王一博，凌晨12点等陈情令，还知道无名。有一只可爱的柴犬，不过年纪比较大了，脸上的毛都变白啦，不怕人，让你撸。 岛上很漂亮，羡慕这只柴犬～
如果要住进去的话，保持安静和干净比较好。
临走的时候，我尽量的打扫了卫生，因为实在是不忍心这么大年龄的老人家辛苦打扫(Ｔ＿Ｔ)。
