Convenient for sightseeing, located between Kintetsu Nara and JR Nara.

Washington Hotel and Washington Hotel Plaza are separate companies. (They have had partnerships in the past.) This is operated by Washington Hotel Co., Ltd., and houses Washington Hotel Plaza and the Washington R&B Hotel, a business hotel. (For Washington Hotels, Fujita Kanko operates Chinzanso, Gracery, and Kowakuen.)
Sometimes I use Washington Hotel Plaza or R&B Hotel in Shin-Osaka, so I chose this one.
It is good to have a single room for use on reunion trips. I made a reservation about six months in advance.
The room is a typical business hotel type single room, which is slightly older but has no problem being cleaned properly.
Breakfast is not buffet, but Japanese or Western style.
This is very nice because you can't eat too much.
Japanese food is recommended. You can enjoy a glimpse of Nara ingredients and local cuisine.
There were a lot of Western foreigners, but they all chose Japanese food. (Was they able to eat natto?)
We enjoyed sightseeing just by keeping our luggage.

Convenient for sightseeing in Nara.

I go to Nara almost every year, and I decided to make this a hotel I had never used before.
It is approximately 5 minutes on foot from JR Nara Station and 10 minutes on foot from Kintetsu Nara Station, facing Sanjo-dori Street, which extends east from JR Nara Station. It is a relatively large facility with more than 200 rooms and was opened in 2000.
Many restaurants lined both sides of Sanjo Street, and there was a convenience store nearby. Kofuku-ji Temple, Todai-ji Temple, Kasuga Taisha Shrine and Nara National Museum are also within walking distance. I'd like to use it again if I get the chance.

I stayed at this hotel after mid-April. Overall, the room and service were decent. However, the air conditioning was a big disappointment. The hotel uses a centralized system, which means you can’t control the temperature yourself. Unfortunately, it was set at around 27–28°C — way too hot! It was really uncomfortable and I couldn’t sleep properly.
In the end, I had to open the window just to get some cool air. I noticed that many other rooms had their windows open too — looks like I wasn’t the only one struggling! Honestly, the aircon was pretty much useless. You’re better off turning it off completely and just enjoying the fresh air from outside.

Good meal

Did not sleep at the hotel, but ate at the hotel restaurant. The sukiyaki we tried was good and tasty. Ice cream for dessert was OK. Service was courteous, spoke some basic English and tried to help. Prices for drinks rather were on the high side.
