Good Japanese style hotel

The Nozawa View Hotel was a great hotel to stay in Nozawa if you like Japanese style rooms. We stayed in room 309 which was described as a Superior Room. It was certainly spacious with a modern shower and separate washroom and separate toilet. The room had a heater which also acted as a drier with a very convenient hanging rack situated above the heater. The room also had coffee and tea making facilities and a small bar fridge. The room also was supplied with plenty of extra futon mattresses for those that like a little more padding. The breakfast was simple and changed slightly every day for some variety. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. I guess that might vary from season to season but it really made a difference to our stay. In terms of location it was a 7 minute walk from Chou Terminal the main bus terminal, 5 minutes from the centre of town and around 5-10 minutes to the two gondolas. You can book a ski shuttle to take you to the gondola terminals and they run every 20 minutes from 8.00 am. To get a place on the early shuttles you need to book by 7.30 am the morning before (especially on powder days).

Perfect for family

First thing to say is the service is excellent and makes up for the slightly rundown and older elements of the hotel.
Our room was authentic, spacious and functional for a ski holiday. Family of 3.
Breakfast was decent.
The area to ski is small but had some fun. To learn its an ideal area.
Tip: reserve restaurants to save the hassle of wandering.
Big shout to Will at reception. Very welcoming and helpful.

Service That Stands Out

I stayed here in January of 2020. The hotel staff felt like family by the end of our stay. Free, homemade toiletries bag is given to each guest at the beginning of the stay. Walking distance to the local shops and restaurants, though far enough away to not get any noise during the night.
The hotel is located at the top of a large, steep hill. I would advise guests that have large amounts of luggage or who cannot walk long, steep distances to organise transport to the hotel.

Service is superb!

The staff and service is superb. Naomi and Jonas were excellent. The Japanese lady manager was super accommodating.
Naomi was able to check us an hour earlier than expected, we arrived at 12pm. The rooms are clean and the bathroom was relatively big.
We went to the onsen at about 1230pm and it had a beautiful view of the slopes. There was also nobody in the onsen at this time. The men’s are located on the 2nd floor and the women’s are on the 1st floor.
The next day we woke up late and went to the onsen around 8am. And it was packed.
We barely made it to breakfast at 850am (closes are 9am). The Japanese lady manager allowed us to enter the dining room and the staff brought back out the food for us.
