Excellent hotel in a great location
My five night stay at Patina Osaka was excellent. I requested a quiet room with castle view and I was provided with the perfect room.. Rooms have great Japanese design elements as well as everything you could want (including a Dyson hair dryer). The hotel is not in a central location but it is a short walk to the subway (Tanimachi 4-chome station is most convenient and a change at Hommachi connects to key stations/sights). There are coffee shops and a sushi restaurant adjacent to the park next to the hotel and also a Lawson convenience store across the road in the castle park (but I note it closes early). Easy to get taxis from the hotel, if required. The activities the hotel had on offer like floating yoga and a LP 'listening room' - not really for me and seem to be targeted to a particular niche group . Would be great if they offered more information about cultural activities for guest/upcoming guests such as information about art exhibitions/festivals/concerts during their stay. Overall I would highly recommend the hotel.

• Service: Outstanding across the board — bellboy, luggage and reception were all attentive, and the WhatsApp concierge was fast and genuinely helpful, including booking restaurants for us

The understated wellness Hotel
[Room]
I stayed for three nights in a Deluxe Suite with a City View, and the room was truly wonderful. The modern design and luxurious elements blended harmoniously, creating a perfect balance of comfort and luxury.
The warm and beautiful atmosphere created by the natural wood and carefully designed lighting perfectly embodied the hotel’s wellness concept. There were plenty of conveniently placed tables throughout the room, and I also appreciated having two TVs. The Bang & Olufsen speaker provided in the room was another thoughtful touch that added to the atmosphere of the trip.
Although the view was not of Osaka Castle, the view of the beautiful gardens framed by the surrounding cityscape was truly impressive. In particular, the night view was remarkable, with the lights from the roads, gardens, and surrounding buildings coming together to create a beautiful atmosphere.
[Location]
The hotel is somewhat removed from Osaka’s main tourist attractions, but this did not cause any significant inconvenience, as several subway stations are within a 10-minute walk, making it easy to get around the city.
Personally, I found the hotel’s relatively secluded setting to be an advantage. In contrast to the crowds and bustle of Osaka’s major tourist areas, the hotel felt like an oasis where I could relax and escape the busy atmosphere of the city. Although its accessibility is slightly less convenient than that of hotels located directly in the main tourist areas, I actually think its location fits the hotel’s wellness concept well.
[Cleanliness]
The room was clean and well maintained. I especially appreciated that there was not an excessive amount of carpeting, which made the room feel less dusty.
[Service]
The hotel responds to any concerns or requests incredibly quickly, with a level of responsiveness I have rarely experienced before. Communication through WhatsApp is fast, convenient, and seamless, which made the entire stay much more comfortable.
Indeed, I appreciated how promptly and thoughtfully the hotel handled a concern I raised during my stay. The issue was resolved quickly and professionally, which left a very positive impression on me.
Of all my interactions with the hotel staff, the service at the 4th-floor Wellness area stood out the most. The staff warmly welcomed me every time I passed by, even when I was simply walking through the area. Whenever I wanted to use the swimming pool or fitness facilities, they personally came over to assist me and show me how to use the facilities. They were also very helpful whenever I had questions about the hotel or nearby tourist attractions, providing useful information and recommendations.
Among the staff, Mari Sado was particularly memorable. She always greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of.
I also appreciated that the staff recognized me and checked in on me during breakfast and whenever I returned to the hotel. On special occasions such as birthdays, they went the extra mile to congratulate me again and make me feel genuinely cared for. This level of personal attention made the hotel feel particularly special.
[Sleep Quality]
I slept quite well during my stay. The bed was soft and comfortable, and the bedding felt pleasant against the skin without causing any discomfort.
One thing to note is that if you sleep with the curtains open, you may notice some noise from the road in front of the hotel, so I would recommend keeping the curtains fully closed at night. The chair next to the bed was also excellent and comfortable enough to relax or even doze off in.
[Dining]
Breakfast was served in a semi-buffet and à la carte format. Although the semi-buffet selection was relatively limited, the quality of the food was excellent, so I never felt that the selection was lacking. The à la carte menu offered more variety than I had expected, allowing me to enjoy a wide range of dishes comfortably. Overall, breakfast offered an experience beyond that of a typical buffet, and the service was excellent as well.
I also had dinner at Inaki during my stay, and I was very impressed by how refined and beautifully presented the dishes were. The lamb chops were excellent, but the other dishes were equally appetizing and thoughtfully prepared. I particularly appreciated how the tableware was changed according to each dish, which was a wonderful touch and added to the overall dining experience.
[Areas for Improvement]
One minor inconvenience was the water provided in glass bottles. While I understand and appreciate the hotel’s efforts to be environmentally responsible, I personally found the glass bottles somewhat inconvenient and feel that providing individual bottles of water would have been more practical.
I also found it slightly inconvenient that both check-in and check-out had to be done while standing. This was not a major issue, but having a comfortable place to sit during these processes would have made the experience feel a little more relaxed.
[Overall]
Despite these minor inconveniences, my overall experience was exceptional. The remarkably responsive communication, attentive service, beautifully designed and comfortable room, excellent cleanliness, convenient access to public transportation, and refined dining experience made this a truly memorable stay.
I would definitely consider staying here again, especially for a special occasion. The hotel’s exceptional hospitality and wellness-focused atmosphere made it feel like a place I would be delighted to return to.
I would especially recommend this hotel to those who prefer understated luxury over something flashy or extravagant. The calm atmosphere, refined design, and wellness-focused concept create a more subtle and relaxing kind of luxury.

Simply stunning!!!!
What an experience!!! This hotel is modern and looks brand new, is spotless and has incredible service.
The standout has to be the reception on the 20th floor with views of the castle. Incredible!
We had a castle view Junior Suite which had two double beds and an enclave bed. For five it was quite cramped as the double beds are quite narrow and one of us had to sleep on the sofa. The balcony was incredible with a view of the city and the castle.
Breakfast was a full buffet with everything you could want. The gym, sauna and pool were fantastic.
We had a personal WhatsApp service which we could use to order room service, more bedding, query room charges etc. this was very helpful.
You can understand why this is one of the most impressive and best rated hotels in the world.
My one gripe was you need to get a lift from floor 1 to 4 and then change to get to the floors with your room. This seems a bit unnecessary.
The standout has to be the reception on the 20th floor with views of the castle. Incredible!

It's more than a price.
This time I stayed in Premier Room 63 m2. It was a corner room with a large balcony and a great room with an open feeling. All the staff were very responsive and I could feel the sincerity of the hotel work.
Breakfast was crowded, but I am looking forward to the next one with service and deliciousness that doesn't make me feel that way.
