Recommended hotels with a Showa-era atmosphere
The ocean can be seen beyond the grassland from the guest rooms, which is very relaxing. The facilities are not new, but they are well-maintained and not inconvenient, and there is a hot spring so you can relax. There are many types of food, and it was enough for a couple of nearly 70 years old. At the shop, we bought a fish pouch made by a local handmade group as a souvenir, which was well received.

The food is so good that you can't eat it, but most of all it's hard not to have air conditioning.
Neither children nor parents could sleep.

The bath is also small, with only about six washrooms, although the quality of the spring is good.

Traditional Japanese style inn
When I booked it, I thought it was abit pricey.
Very traditional Japanese style inn. Room I stayed in was a bigger one, facing the ocean. Looks abit old.
The meals were amazing! The dinner was such a good spread of different components to a Japanese meal. It felt very special and thoughtful. The breakfast had a huge variety on their tray!
Onsen consisted of an indoor and outdoor area. Outdoor area was very nice at night. It faces the ocean, which u can see in the day.

Quiet traditional onsen
This hotel in located 1.4km from the JR Noboribetsu perch on top of a hill overlooking the Pacific ocean. As a budget traveler, this one night here was my splurge and I don't regret that decision. I had the Japanese style room with dinner and breakfast. Food was great, onsen looking out to the sea is great and so are the scenic views around. Other perks include the 100Y massage chair service and discounted admission tickets available to some of the parks. Pick up service on the day of arrival and day of departure from and to JR station is provided. For unknown reasons, they did fail to pick me up on arranged time which they apologized. Happy to stay here again!
