Water is part of the dish

I stayed here on September 28th as part of a tour. At dinner, they poured water into my glass, but it smelled like pond water. I asked the staff if they wanted to change the water, but I refused. The water they poured before had the same smell and taste. They didn't even check all the pitchers that were piled up, and poured them for other guests. This ruined the delicious food. They probably think it's just water, but water is part of the food. Well water after the rain smells and tastes like this too.

A bit weird hotel located in a beautiful countryside

You do not expect it. Passing beautiful forests and rice fields suddenly appears a hotel looking as a Disneyland. After watching monkeys playing on a nearby bridge you are astonished by large premisses of this hotel. Entrance hall is just huge. Receptionists are kind just can not speak english. Everything is oversized - especially rooms and its windows. Just bathroom is quite tiny. Equipment is a bit old-dated but very well maintained. Great , you can overlook mountains and river. And you are provided by yukata (dress similar to kimono) that is very comfy to wear.
Breakfast was very tasty with wide options. We had a really good dinner here (just avoid pizza).
What we really liked was onsen (hot bath). There were 3 pools with really hot water. The last one located on an outdoor terrace was the best - especially at night. Sure, men and women separated.
And the last comment for business travellers - there is no wifi!

Rooms with Expansive Views

Wake up in the morning, throw open the curtains and be pumped for a day of skiing. Rooms on the east side of the Royal Tainai Park Hotel face the nearby Tainai Ski Area and motivated this snowboarder to get moving and hit the slopes.
The courtesy shuttle that picks guests up from Nakajo Station and ferries them to and from the ski area is comfortable and a necessity for those without a car, but not having to worry about the driving is great. On the outside, the Royal Tainai Park Hotel looks like a small and modernized Disney Castle with gray stone instead of white. A miniature Neuschwanstein with two square turrets. The castle-esque architechture continues inside the hotel. The stone and tile lobby with the hotel's logo behind the front desk recalls Hogwarts of Harry Potter or the colleges of Oxford where the movie was filmed. My room on the 5th floor was possibly the most spacious room I've stayed in my whole time in Japan. The large window let in the sun and showed me the ski area of Tainai (small by Colorado standards and aimed at families and learning riders but a good place for a short trip) and the surrounding valley. The bed was plush and comfortable. The hotel's rooftop hot springs (also over looking the ski area - and smelling of the cedar that one of the tubs is built of) rounded out the complete weekend package.

お盆に1泊しました。お部屋は髪の毛が落ちていて掃除が行き届いておらず、夕飯もテンポが悪く美味しくない上、ご飯とお味噌汁のセルフサービスの案内が最後までない、サーブをミスしてお料理を落としても十分な謝罪や説明がない等サービスも悪く、二度と行きたくありません。
