It's great with radon hot springs, meals for breakfast and dinner, and a room with a ReFa hair dryer!

We visited as a couple in late May and rented a room on the 5th floor.
It's very close and convenient, only a 2-minute walk from the station!!
I thought it would be very crowded because it was a day-trip hot spring, but it was surprisingly calm.
It was after 2 p.m., but the front desk was not crowded and we were able to check in smoothly.
There is welcome coffee on the 1st floor.
It seems that you can only drink it on the spot, so you cannot take it to your room.
The room has been renovated and is very clean!!
It was also well-cleaned, and there was coffee (Nespresso) in the room.
The water next to the coffee maker is free, but the refrigerator is charged.
You can also enjoy a relaxing bath in the indoor bath in the room.
What was good about the room was that it had a Refa, which I wanted to try!
The hair dryer and iron were Refa. Maybe the shower head in the room was the same (because it was a shower head I had never seen before).
There was also my favorite POLA shampoo provided. The scent of roses is soothing♪
The selling point of this inn is the radon hot springs. There is no radon in the rooms, but the radon hot springs are behind the door in the large public bath. It is said that it is good to soak for 5-10 minutes, but since the temperature is low at 38-39 degrees, it seems like you can stay in for longer. Since it is not hot, it is not a burden on the body and you can soak very slowly. There is also an open-air bath, but the view is... nothing can be seen. However, the outside air is good and it feels good. It was a beautiful renovated large public bath.
And you can enjoy your meal at your leisure in your room. What is delicious is the chef's homemade sweet ginger and miso soup, which are exquisite!
The meal was really delicious, with spiny lobster, beef stew, and luxurious sashimi.
The rice in the clay pot is also the best in the morning!
There are many side dishes, and it was nice to be able to drink the mandarin orange juice sold at the shop, and there is an all-you-can-eat salmon roe and whitebait. I'm careful about salt intake, so I can't eat that much, but it's nice to be able to enjoy both in the morning.
I heard that day trips are also possible from 12 noon, so I'd like to try that next time.
It's also possible to use the bath after paying, so if I have time, I'd like to enjoy a little bath after my meal before going home. (Please bring your own towel.)
It was a wonderful inn with great hospitality and lots of different ways to enjoy it.
I've been to many inns, including Hakone and Atami, but overall this might be my number one, I really like it.

We stayed here with elderly parents. It’s very close from the station and easy to find. The man (sorry I didn’t get his name) at check-in was extremely thorough in explaining everything and friendly yet professional.
We had a private bath in our room, but mainly visited the main baths. I didn’t realize they had this “Radon onsen” which had many health benefits. The dinner was HUGE and amazing. The breakfast was just was good. The service was great, too. The coffee in the lobby was also great.
WE WILL DEFINITELY RETURN!! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay :)

First Class Service!

I travelled with my elderly father and found this hotel to be one of the best that I have stayed. The level of service from the doorman, to the front desk, the maid service, and the restaraunt staff was far beyond of what I expected! The Shiroyama Hotel has been the crown jewel of Kagoshima and will always will be in my mind.

This accommodation is mixed good and bad. There are a few things that I was very happy with! It is only about a 5 minute walk from Yugawara JR station, the room itself was very nice (we booked a traditional Japanese style room) and in it there were hot water facilities for tea, private bathroom, AC and TV. The onsen is obviously brand new and is a very high standard. There is the option for private onsen which costs about 2800 yen for a 45 minute session and I would recommend it! There are a few things that were poor however. There was construction work ongoing during out stay which we were not told about either when we booked or at check-in. It seemed to only happen between 9am and 12 noon however it was very noisy and it did certainly make the stay less enjoyable (we had to leave during these times as it was so noisy). The hotel is very hard to get in contact with. They do not respond to Expedia messages and do not have an email. They only have a Japanese speaking phone number which proves a little difficult to communicate. Check-in isThis accommodation is mixed good and bad. There are a few things that I was very happy with!
