Great service

Because baseball tickets in Korea were only purchasable by Koreans, the receptionist then was willing to purchase it for me and even went out of his way to ensure i got them. Since I hadn't paid much for this budget hotel, I think it exceeded my expectations in terms of quality. They had a rooftop kitchen and dining tables, where breakfast was served daily (bread, jam, coffee, tea, instant noodles etc.). It was also near to the subway station (and this subway station is connected to many lines which made transport so much easier for us). Right out of the hotel were a bunch of restaurants, and of walking distance would be convenience stalls, and the famous Gwangjang market. Great place to stay in!!!

Don’t recommend unless you’re on a budget

Pro: good location
Con: Room was tiny & didn’t look like the picture. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything and you must be quiet all of the time. The bathroom is small, smelly and there was black mold on the ceiling causing me to cough everyday I stayed there. The beds are hard and uncomfortable. There is no elevator. Overall, the hotel is very outdated and dirty. There is never any staff around, only when you check in and out.

Small but sufficient

Room is not big but spacious enough to leave a 26" suitcase open. There is a window but no view from my room. Staff is very attentive. When I arrived at ground floor in day of arrival, the staff on duty promptly hopped out (from nowhere) to carry my luggage upstairs. Similarly on the day of checkout. I suspect there is only one person on duty at a time but service remains attentive. CCTVs around the property probably helped. The room is clean when I entered but there wasn't any cleaning service or towel replacement during my stay. Facilities are reasonable for such a small property - they even have adorable tiny washing machines! Location is perfect. It's right next to airport bus stop and within 10 mins walk from dongdaemun shopping area, jongbu market and gwangjang market. Towels are provided but not for toothbrushes and slippers. Bring your own if needed. The property lists itself as hostel / B&B but I didn't find the breakfast/kitchen and didn't ask either. Receptionist speaks some English. I am very happy with what I paid for. It's a very economical option around dongdaemun (as name suggests). Recommended!

Average

The services were average, the receptionist are not always available but he did help us to get the directions to Myeongdong. There is no breakfast provided, even i could not get an access to the kitchen to cook my own breakfast, since the kitchen is located in the rooftop it requires a key or password. I also checked out without telling the receptionist due to he barely stay at the recepsionist desk

Please make sure your hotel location and address before you doing booking, as we found 2 philstay hotel in dongdaemum and 3 philstay in myeong dong.
The hotel stuff is polite and helpful, able to speak Chinese/ Mandarin and a bit of English.
Location is good and safe, as Police station is just at the corner.
Shopping mall, road side food stall, fast food and restaurants is just nearby to the hotel. 24 hours convenience stall is just at the corner.
