central, fun, feels like home!

I loved this place! It´s super central, safe, the interior is beautiful and cosy, and the staff are AMAZING! Especially the heart and soul of the hostel, Tate -- can´t describe him, you gotta meet him! There are activities throughout the week you can participate in such as surfing tours, BBQs, nature outings, and the famous Longstreet karaoke! There´s a big kitchen with all things necessary for cooking, plus fridge. Because it´s in the middle of town close and close to bars, it does get a bit noisy at night, but it´s definitely worth the fun staying at Longstreet!

NOT GREAT/ Whatever the opposite of hospitality is really

Great vibe, but disorganised staff let it down
This place has great energy and a few genuinely kind staff members, but the management is all over the place. I was bounced between different receptionists who were clearly not on the same page — each giving different information, leading to multiple booking errors.
Twice my extensions weren’t recorded, and on one occasion I was told to confirm in the morning — only for the next receptionist to refuse, charge more, ending in being thrown out by the boss “There’s nothing we can do” this was a staff error??.
I didn’t mind the usual backpacker issues (noise, “wet room” bathrooms, no water at times), but the chaotic admin is what ruined it. Needs serious improvement in communication and booking systems.

Very good option for travel only

I came to Cape Town to visit a friend who was here and I really loved the hostel, I had never been to one and was somewhat afraid, but the truth is the atmosphere of this hostel is very good and you meet lovely people who accompanied you all your stay in the city! Very grateful to the bar and reception staff for getting a smile out of me every day!
