Excellent Accommodation

We really enjoyed our sleepover. From the friendly earlier check-in with Mariaan to the late check-out with Jomien, everything was smooth. Especially helping ourselves to early morning coffee from the kitchen in our pj's! Unusual stepping from our room to the kitchen in pj's? Yes, but it felt like home, so no problem. We did not miss the usual guest room perks of TV's and coffee etc. Instead, we enjoyed wooden floors, an en-suite bathroom, antique cupboards and a bed fitted with modern and warm bedding/duvet. A nice touch was the oil heater to protect against the cold air! I did find that the availability of breakfast and its arrangements could be better communicated. Would have loved supporting you further by enjoying breakfast in the dining room. Next time!!

Not memorable!

I spent two nights at Route 62 Bnb.
I arrived late, but the owner and receptionist made a plan to make sure that I check in properly. I appreciate the efforts done.
The place could be comfortable, if you are on your own, which I though I was till a group of 3 or 4 guests arrive at 11pm, making horrible noise chatting and rolling their luggage.
The walls /doors are very thin and the noise are passing through, that makes the place very noisy. Mixing a group of 7 people (more arrived on the second day) and a solo traveller in the same cottage (with a central lounge communicating with all the rooms) is not a good idea.
The road traffic is also quite heavy and noisy if your rooms is on the front door (which was my case).
Second issue was the keys. Old doors with old key holes make the process difficult. I struggled a lot to open the three doors I had to go through.
Last point was the flush. The flushing system was not operating properly and I had to open the cistern and stop the water manually to avoid water leak and waste.
That was my experience.

Average Experience !!

POSITIVE: Good reception by the personnel when we arrived. Room, bathroom and bedding was very clean. NEGATIVE: 1) There was no soap in the bathroom (Lack of small hotel type of soap bars at the washing basin & shower) 2) Parking was a problem as the parking area does not provide enough overnight parking for a full house booking at your B&B. We were not sure how safe it was leaving our expensive 4x4 vehicle with full load of personal belongings outside in the road in front of the building ! 3) The breakfast can be presented more professional. One little tub of yogurt per person without a choice of flavour is not feasible. The bacon was overcooked (Like biltong). Breakfast definitely not worth spending on.

Thank you for the review, Resort16784617564! We provide hand and body wash instead of soap bars and we are already looking into the parking. It is unfortunate that your bacon was overcooked, not a usual occurrence. But at R60 for a full English breakfast (sausage, bacon, egg, tomato, toast, yogurt, cereal, fruit, juice/tea/coffee and a rusk) and R30 for children under 12, I would argue our breakfast is a still pretty good deal...
