AVOID!
We booked a room with air condition as stated in the room description. When we got their they said no it's just a fan on the wall. Since it was a heat wave we were not happy as well as the false advertising. You also had to pay extra for hot water. What?
Then after multiple calls to the boss and constant 'nos' we were giving up. We were exhausted after a 5-6 hour coach ride.
They said just pay us more money and we'll give you a room with AC. I refused as I had already booked and paid for AC.
They said let us show you the room and see what you think.
Omg.
The rooms they were awful. Nothing like the pictures, no windows, and the SMELL! It stunk of damp mould and rot. We thought no we can't stay in here as we will end up sick.
We just wanted a refund so we could find somewhere else. Battambang is fairly more expensive compared to places like Malaysia and Thailand. They refused. But I said I can't stay here it smells so bad and everything has been falsely advertised. Eventually they accepted. They said unfortunately we can't refund everything as booking.com took a fee from them and to reach out to them for the rest. I accepted as I was so upset and tired and I was crying at this point.
Booking.com knew nothing of the sort and have never heard of hotels not giving the customer the fees. The hotel would usually just give everything back and booking.com will refund the fees. They asked me to reach out to the hotel for the remaining money owed.
Well guess what, they don't have messenger or email so could not contact them.
Opened a dispute with them and my bank but the hotel will not give me any evidence or paperwork, not even an invoice.
Bank refuse to refund me anything as the hotel will not play ball as they are clearly dirty scammers. They must get it a lot. And booking.com can't do anything because the hotel won't contact them and made up a lot of lies about booking.com being in charge of this and that ect blah blah blah.
They were so rude and dismissive and kept laughing at us even when crying.
Absolute disgrace this place. Should be closed down. Probably make quite a few people really sick. Glad we only spent an hour there. Vile.
