PLEASANT HOTEL
I spent 12 nights in this very cosy and quiet hotel in Douala. I must say that I was very impressed with the friendly and courteous staff. The meals were on point, while room service never exceeded 30 minutes. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Douala.

it's basically a clean bed & breakfast lodging but you need to pay for breakfast. Room was okay, hotel set in a close, peaceful, serene & quiet. However, it's a bit expensive for the type of accomodation it is. If you need a quiet and clean accomodation, nothing fancy, then Tchero is ideal. I must however commend the hotel for the shuttle services, i came in at past 2.00a.m. and the shuttle service waited for me till 4.00a.m. when i got my luggage. it also had many tv channels, some in ENglish which is commendable for Doula, as previous hotels i had stayed in didnt have that.

Checked in the Tchero hotel based on reviews on this site and have to say that I fully agree with all positive reviews.
The staff are friendly and helpful, the entire hotel is and looks very clean and well maintained, rooms are ok, not extremely large but sufficient even for a six weeks stay.
The restaurant is simple but clean and the good is of a (very) good quality. Breakfast may be perceived simple, a bit linked to the French breakfast, a croissant, a bit of baguette and butter and jam. But can free of charge select out of a range of omelettes, with ham, mushrooms, vegetables and some more. Simple but tasty.
Also had several times lunch and dinner and every time the food was very tasty. Of course not Michelin star class but that is also not what I am interested in, honest and well prepared food will do the trick for me.
Internet access is free of charge, do not expect the same speed as one is used to in Europe but now it is working fine.
Bed is of a good quality and air conditioning is working fine.
Bathroom and toilet are clean.
I can definitely recommend the Tchero hotel if you are visiting Douala!!

Exellence on a Budget
As with most things word of mouth recommendations are usually the best. On a recent trip to Cameroon I was recommend to try this hotel by several people, I had never heard of it but it was only recently opened so not previously available to me when I was resident in Douala.
First impression on arrival excellent check in was swift and efficient. Plus the room was more than adequate a little basic but extremely clean very quite and with excellent internet connection so comms with my various on going operations from Limbe, Lagos and Cotonou where no problem at all.
The bar is small and friendly and doubles as the Restaurant which had a very good menu with excellent choices of fayre at reasonable prices,
The only fault I could make about the hotel was if like me you have bad knees (OLD AGE) an elevator would have been an improvement as it was I was in a room on the first floor so it was no to much of a chore.

Preferred Hotel In Douala
Have stayed here several times since it opened. A small 'provincial' hotel in a safe area of Douala. The hotel must be almost 2 years old now but like a lot of the hotels in Douala it has been maintained well. Rooms are comfortable, own AC, flat screen TV and wi-fi throughout the hotel.
Small restaurant next to reception, breakfast is croissants, omelettes and they also service reasonable lunches and dinners. There's a minute bar/seating area in there.
There's not outside sitting area but the location is good.
