A great stay

A fabulous hotel with wonderful, friendly, efficient staff. Centrally located, The rooms are very comfortable, the breakfast is good and the open air, roof top hot tubs a great way to start and end your day.

Not worth the cost

I get Banff is expensive (this is our 2nd trip). But the Moose Lodge is NOT worth the price. The only perk is location. Other than that, we would have thrown in some extra money and paid for Fairmont or Rimrock. "Rooftop suites" looking into other guests' bedrooms, as well as the real rooftops. No complimentary coffee in lounge. Not allowed to drink alcohol in lounge (they literally sell it within several feet of the lounge). Gross and overcrowded rooftop spa (we only looked at, and walked away). Not sure where I would stay at on our next Banff trip, if we want to stay downtown, but this is not it for the price.

Family stay for 4 nights in August

This is a really good hotel. We had two double bedrooms next to each other and they were completely full when we check in (it was in August). It’s good for four main reasons. First the location is excellent and it’s a few minutes walk into the hear of Banff. It’s 2 mins from the IGA Supermarket which was very hand for picking up travel snacks and had a good deli section. Second it has large hot tubs on the roof with fantastic views of Banff and the mountains. The gym and indoor pool are also at the top and I’ve never seen a gym with such amazing views. Third staff are friendly and helpful. Fourth the car park is good with large spaces and it’s free. Finally if you are doing any tours they pick up from the Moose (we did a sunrise at Moraine Lake) which is very handy. Overall, I think this would be an excellent choice for anyone staying in Banff.

The Moose is in the perfect location in Banff- walkable to pretty much everything with bus stops right outside. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the staff was fantastic.

The location was perfect! We will definitely stay again. My only complaint is whenever housekeeping would come clean the room, they would turn down the temperature to 60 degrees. When we would come back at night we would freeze!
