Not a Happy Camper

The experience started well on the Friday afternoon as they allowed us to check in early. The rooms were average at best but adequate . Our microwave, fridge and coffee maker were plugged into a power bar that was plugged into an outlet inside the bathroom. To close the bathroom door it had to be unplugged temporarily.
Not the motel's fault but we were without power for over 3 hours Friday night.
Saturday night I went to go my room and the door was almost totally covered in some kind of flying bug. You guessed it when I opened the door, ( I had to get into the room ) it filled with these bugs. I noticed that there was already some in the room before the new ones came in. These things were everywhere, even inside the bed. When I contacted the front desk I got a ....well you opened the door. It's something I do before I go into a room ! I tried to explain that it was the outside light beside the door that was attracting then to which they acknowledged was a problem but hadn't fixed. It was not even possible to turn it off as it was on a timer. Around 11pm the bugs had subsided and we wanted to go to bed so we asked at the front desk for some clean sheets and were told that it's not possible because they're locked up.
I slept in my truck. I confronted them at the front desk about returning all or some of my money and they just point blankly said no. It's too bad because it's a nice spot but never again !!

The view in the lake is beautiful the room is clean but the train all night passing making a lot of noise !!!!……

I’ve never, in my many years of road trips left a 1 star review. Sure, it backs onto a pretty lake, but people should review more on the sleeping accommodation.
Emailed and apologized to say I was arriving at 12am. Arrived at 12:05am and spent 15mins calling and knocking trying to get a response at reception as it was all locked up. Finally someone came down.
Reception area had empty drink can and food box on a table. Lots of hand written signs about everything, and felt like I’d walked into someone’s front room. The incidental hold was $300. I don’t think I’ve ever had that high of a hold, even at an upscale hotel.
Reception area picture on Hotels.com is definitely not the picture of what you walk into.
Got to the junior suite room and there were flying bugs over the walls, ceiling, and on the beds. If it wasn’t so late, I would have got in the car and driven 30miles to the next town.
The bugs would fall down and land on you in the night. I am not exaggerating!
I was traveling with my family and felt bad to have had them stay there.
The people might have been nice, but I’m paying to sleep in a room, and this motel left me feeling uncomfortable.

Misleading listing

We booked and paid for a Deluxe Room, based on the photos and description shown on Expedia. Unfortunately, the room we received had neither a water view nor a kitchen and did not resemble the room that was advertised. This is a misleading listing.
After a six-hour drive to Kingston, we specifically chose this accommodation so we could prepare our own dinner. Instead, we discovered there was no kitchen and had to drive back into downtown Kingston to find a restaurant, ending up eating around 9:00 p.m.
The room was very small, directly facing a busy street, and we could hear trains throughout the night. Door was not secure and we could see light through corners and bottom of the door. Doors of the property does not lock and anybody from the street could have come inside the corridor we did not feel safe at all. It was also poorly equipped for three guests, with only two bath towels, one bedside table, and one roll of toilet paper. The air conditioning had to be controlled from the lobby, and it took several calls and messages before anyone responded.
The most concerning issue is that the photos and description associated with this room category were misleading. 50 photos of the rooms and the property and they all have a kitchen, not ours. What is the Deluxe Room exactly?
For nearly $200 per night, this accommodation did not meet basic expectations for comfort, service, or accuracy. Had the listing accurately represented the room provided, we would not have booked this property.
Commodities were supposed to include food and beverages, a desk, wardrobe and dressing gown and toiletry items.. they were none of it.

Not a bad place for the night. However if you’re a light sleeper beware of the horn blowing trains periodically during the night.
