Perfect for our needs!!
Front desk clerk went above and beyond!! Room was clean and more than adequate for our stop over needs. Super comfy beds… would definitely stay again!! 5:30-10 am free continental breakfast… appreciated the early start time so we can get going early to arrive at our final camping destination in good time!! Not over the top expensive either!! Would definitely stay again… perhaps on the return trip home!! lol!!

Wonderful stay will recommend clean and friendly staff wonderful service
Wonderful stay great place clean comfy bed friendly and helpful staff lots of breakfast to choose from the next day just to remind you ignore that bad reviews before me also ignore that outside looking it’s dusty but inside is more important it’s CLEAN and FRIENDLY staff also very respectful!

Robbed at price point
The sign said "Welcome to Marathon, a superior place". Whatever that means is lost on this place. From the pigeons taking up residence in the ceiling above to the holes in the towels and peeling paint the only thing superior was the cost.
If you're making your way across Canada and you have a pet, avoid Marathon at all costs. The gas is pricey at the fill up too, heard some truckers making excuses on behalf of the city while filling up as well.
Maybe it's because they discovered gold here in the 80s that makes them superior. Well whatever it is, it's clear that mining gold isn't invested back into the community or its businesses.

Only place that’s pet friendly in marathon.
Travelling with a pet? This is the only hotel that accommodates them in Marathon.
What can I say that’s positive? The staff is nice and we slept and so did our dog.
Outside of that, you’re not crazy, the water leaves a film on your body. The hair dryer is from the 80’s and I’m not sure if the carpet is wet or cold…but here we are alive and well and on to travel another day and I had toast and jam and a coffee for breakfast from the continent of carbs continental breakfast.

Clean, cute and comfy
Ignore the very outdated negative reviews. It may be an older inn but we are more than satisfied with what they offer as a frequent traveller throughout Northern Ontario.
Long story short, due to snowy highway conditions, my friend and I have yet to make it to Thunder Bay from Sudbury (business trip) and needed a clean and comfortable place to weather out the storm (pun intended). We are travelling with a small dog and she has been more than welcomed (for a reasonably small $25 pet fee). There is only one other motel/inn/hotel in town that offers this service so we asked some local residents, before settling, which one would be preferable and resoundingly landed us here. Added bonus, we were able to check in a couple of hours prior to the standard check in time of 3pm unlike the only other pet friendly option (pretty sure there were maybe only 1-2 guests at that other facility yet they refused to attempt to accommodate us). It was greatly appreciated especially since we had been already travelling several hours and quite fatigued.
We could not be more satisfied with our decision .
There is a small fridge, coffee machine, deep bathtub, free continental breakfast, accessible coin laundry and microwave which are all we need for the time being. The Independant grocer (a Loblaws brand) is a mere 3-4 minute drive away. There is also a 24hr pay at the pump gas bar attached if need be.
Did I mention the beds are super awesomely comfy? No I didn't? Well they are.
The TV is not internet capable (there is free high speed internet however) but it's not even an issue because the channel selection is quite extensive as far as Canadian cable goes.
The staff is quite helpful and friendly to boot.
10 out of 10 would stay again.
