Excellent service at Downtown B&B

We arrived late after a 31/2 hr. flight delay. Our host was waiting up for us, made us tea and dumplings and helped us relax after a long day of travel. We stayed 3 nights, breakfasts were tasty and food plentiful. The B&B was very convenient to restaurants and other attractions in downtown Moncton. Very clean and quiet.

Worse place I have ever experienced in travels

From Prince Edward Island, we called this hotel to book a room with 2 beds for 4 adults + 1 kid for 1 night tonight and the lady confirmed we will get a large room + 2 beds at 110 CAD plus tax + breakfast . We informed we will reach there by 10pm by driving in 3 hours nonstop (calling at 7 pm) When we reached there, same lady on phone showed us a small room with one single bed and said she can add an extra bed. I was surprised to see that size of the said “large” room if can fit 2 people. BUT amazingly next part, she said she didnt know that we have 4 adults. She showed us a messy living room as her solution with extended sofa chair and said normally this room is only used for friends and family, not renting, asking us to pay 200 CAD in total if we want to stay. I patiently told her she didnt deliver what she confirmed, she should have corrected her fault by at least making arrangements for us with same charge. She shouldn’t request further charge for her messy living room while it’s not at any renting standard facilties/ rate. However, my kid and my parents were very tired after long travel hence I said I can accept to pay fully at 150 CAD and we dont need breakfast. She said no to us and asked us to leave. We all get shocked. I asked may I see her boss/ owner then she said she is owner. She told my daughter she is Chinese. I saw many good reviews about this hotel but I dont believe an experienced owner can have that bad behavior/ hospitality. I also met many good Chinese people everywhere and felt that she made Chinese ashamed of her when she cheated me and the way she treated kid and old people at late night. My husband searched another place and luckily now we can get a big and clean room at 103 CAD included tax.

Convenient location, simple and clean

I believe ownership has changed since most reviews have been written. This B and B is conveniently located near the downtown core (a 2 minute walk) and a 1 minute walk to an amazing vegetarian restaurant. The decor is from the 1950s and the beds/linens need replacing (in the twin room at least) as they are quite hard and the sheets feel old and nubby. The hostess (Emily) and her husband are friendly and helpful, and offered a nice cup of tea on arrival. The breakfast was tasty but involved mostly eggs which I don’t eat (we weren’t asked if we had any preferences). Overall, a convenient location but it seemed a little worn and outdated for the cost of $120.

The loft was awesome

Very comfortable b&b in a good location convenient to downtown. Linda provides good conversation and delicious breakfasts. We actually met a woman who knows a family from our home town! We stayed in the loft and it was like having our own little apartment!
We loved meeting the mascot of the house, Lucy the golden retriever. Thanks again, Linda, hope to stay with you next time we're in New Brunswick!

Great stay, perfect location

My husband and I were in Moncton for a night away for some alone time. We thought we'd try something different as we always stay at a hotel. It was a good decision.
Linda, the owner is an ideal host. She is so friendly and welcoming. And Lucy Patricia, her dog is a great addition. Clean rooms, whole house clean. Nice sunroom that I wish I had got to use. Breakfast was yummy plus nice to sit with others staying there and have good conversation. Location is premium if you are in the mood for downtown. Would definitely stay again.
