Ok - let's start with the area. The community felt safe - super eclectic, meaning a little grunge and artsy. If you plan to visit downtown, plan for 20-25 minutes drive. Lots of local restaurants, little Italy is close and has great options (Il Bazzali). Skip TaChido and Nouveau Palais (disappointing). Small grocery market 2 doors down from apartment and drug store right across the street.
The space. Beds are big but they take up the entire room. Closets but no dressers or other storage. Upstairs bathroom is super small, but does the job. The kitchen and common area is pretty big - the dining chairs are super dirty.
Smell. The entryway and stairs have a strong mildew smell - luckily not as bad in the unit, but you can still smell it a bit.
Parking. We had luck with street parking. Usually free 9p-9a, but I would use the parking app to secure parking from 7a-12n. You can add time too. Hours vary depending on which side of the street your parking. Didn't need lot parking.
Host. Super responsive and helpful. Only issue we had was the washer didn't work, but the maintenance wasn't able to arrive until after we departed.

We were amazed when we arrived. The property is stunning! It is located in in such a great location for food and shops. If you choose this area of Montreal, you are choosing to immerse yourself in everyday citizen life which is our preference when traveling rather than a tourist mecca.
Our apartment had a full size kitchen, living/dining area and two bedrooms with a washer dryer. There are three grocery stores within a block. Everything was clean and fresh.
I gave it almost a perfect rating on everything and I cannot criticize anything.
With that said, I want you as a consumer to know some things that will make this less stressful:
Check in: There is no check in staff. If you reserve a room, check your inbox in Hotels.com. It will give you a link to preregister and upload your ID and then they will very quickly respond with the exterior door code, your room code and a code to the roof which is gorgeous. This was my only hiccup and not any fault of theirs. I misunderstood and that is on me. It didn't help that our cell phones didn't work across the border from US - our fault.
Mobility: There is no elevator. If you are on the second or third floor there are only stairs and no real railing to hold onto.
Parking: (We knew this and it is clear in the description). There is no parking. We had no trouble finding street parking but you have to feed the meter every three hours. There is no charge after certain hours at night until morning.
This was a perfect stay! No regrets!

Pros: comfortable beds, great views from the balcony, vibrant neighbourhood
Cons: Kitchen wasn't fully stocked for a group of 6, AC didn't work one night, though the host was quick to have it fixed the following day. No propane for the balcony BBQ,
no reception, steep stairs for seniors, wifi went out one day so no internet or tv, also affected the door code so we got locked out on the street until someone exited. Parking is a nightmare, if you have a car don't even consider this place. Had to move several times a day and parked blocked away sometime.

Great location and nice room. But my goodness the property managers have no idea what they are doing. Took us 45 minutes to get into our room because they gave us the wrong door code. Then the next night I heard a group of people walk into someone else’s room because management gave them the code to their room and the only lock on the door can be unlocked from the outside. The soundproofing is terrible and can hear everything in the lobby and surrounding rooms.

Found dirty socks in bedroom, no bottom bed sheet on bed, bathroom seemed really clean. Lacking supplies, no paper towel,hand towels, facecloths, coffee or tea. Stairwell carpets were really dirty. Throw pillows needed to be washed so we did that first thing. BBQ was filthy, unusable and no propane anyway. Not one kitchen utensil was there. We bought some to use.
