Place is as old as it comes. Upon main entry all you can smell is cigarette smoke. The owner/front desk very gruff. Our room was big and the grounds maintained but no customer service skills at all. We booked and paid 4 nights in full. Next day we received call from home due to family emergency had to cut trip short by one night. We advised him of this and asked if any partial or full refund for the last night would be possible but if not we fully understand. He said “ no problem” will give refund on last night. We thanked him. Upon check out inquired about the refund as discussed other day and he said “ No refund, not my problem you have family emergency” argument took place and he started yelling in French… When checked credit card statement he did take off last night but then put it back on again. Just upset that he went back in his word. Also not much to do in area unless like golf nearby

Our group of four had a pleasant one night stay with Ivan. This historic Auberge may be showing its age but has character. Ivan was pleasant and helpful. We spent the evening overlooking the lake as the sun set. The three house dogs visited with us and were well behaved and friendly. The self catered apartment worked well as the Auberge is 3k out of town and not walkable to restaurants. Very convenient as we were biking L’Petit Train du Nord.

Great place to stop on snowmobile. Its ight on the trail. Owner was very nice and room was great. Great view of the lake and hot tub available anytime, even real late.
