Charming treasure waiting for you!

We booked this for a stop on our roadtrip from Ontario to the East Coast. We had an issue with taking the ferry (2 hour delay) so we were not able to arrive at our planned time. They were so gracious when we called and accommodated our late (very late!) arrival.
When we entered the room we were delighted. Don’t be fooled by it referring to itself as an “auberge/hostel” as it is much more of an Inn or B&B sans breakfast.
A comfortable bed, bathroom with toiletries and the most comfortable chairs by the fireplace, perfect for reading.
We left the next morning to continue on our journey, but would have loved to stay longer.
My husband and I agree that we need to return to this region of Quebec, and stay at Aubergr Mr. James.

Adequate but nothing to write home about.

Arrival at around 4:00 was confusing. Hard to access and check in was at the restaurant next door. Once checked in, we ended up in a basement room. Disappointed as the cost was $212 and I was expecting to be on an upper level. But it was clean and the bed was very comfortable with nice linens. Just a bit costly for what we got. Won’t stay here again.

Hot!!

No one available except kitchen staff when we arrived. Room was adequate, but extremely warm with no air conditioning or even a fan to cool it down. Opened windows with little to no air! That was in the downstairs apt. Not worthy of the price we paid!

A warm welcome, a more than attentive host!
The decor, the comfort, the feeling of being at home... what more could you ask for!
I highly recommend ! In addition, great attention for our old dog: the difficulty with the steps... they thought of it before us! Thank you

Very bad

From the outside the structure is nice, has private parking and is located on a passing road with restaurants and shops.
Breakfast was not included in our booking but they still provided us with a coffee machine and fruit juice, better than nothing.
The positive factors end here, because otherwise I didn't have a good time at all and I can only advise against the structure.
I had booked a room with two queen beds with booking which, in the booking conditions, should have even had a terrace. In reality, I don't know why, we ended up in the cellar: a large but very humid room, which smelled of mould, with little light and no air exchange (two small windows at the top which I don't even know if they could be opened, but in any case in fact they were not reachable without having a ladder).
In the bathroom the shower drain didn't work and the wall where the shower was located was full of mold. Luckily we only stayed one night, but precisely because at that time of the afternoon we had no other choice.
The check in operations are quite inconvenient as there is no reception but you have to reach the adjacent restaurant and then the waitress takes you to your room, everything is a bit cumbersome if you have bulky luggage.
