Nice hotel with a beautiful rooftop with tasty food.
Service staff at the bistro where we had breakfast were not as attentive but the food was nice.
We liked our stay with the Broadview Hotel a lot.

Hotel room itself was beautiful and comfortable, however, the record player in my room and my parents' did not work and could not be fixed, which was a shame because we wanted to head to the floor with the record library and play some tunes. The restaurant was so cool looking, but we could not be connected by staff to anyone who could answer allergy questions which was dissapointing.

We try to stay here whenever we come to Toronto. The building is magnificent, the rooms always clean and well-maintained (all are equipped with a record player and selection of vinyl) and the restaurants are great. The rooftop has a wonderful view of downtown and is lovely in the summer. Great neighbourhood and convenient as it’s right on the streetcar line. Highly recommended!

They thought of everything and it was great. Great location, we where able to park in their lot and walk to everything.

Frustrating experience

I tried to book a room for 4 days for an out-of-town guest. They needed a credit card validation, which made sense. The only two ways to validate my card were to use the app they used or to go to the hotel in person. The app didn't work for me (and others they admitted) because it couldn't recognize the scans of my driver's licence. I called and asked if I could send scans of my ID to the hotel directly. This wasn't an option for some unknown reason. They said I needed to come to the hotel in person or to stay somewhere else. When I asked what someone who lived in France was expected to do if their app wasn't working, their response was that the reservation would not be possible. I booked my guest at the King Edward (same $500/night rate) without any issues. The group that owns the hotel has a beautiful property but they have no idea how to run a hotel. I contacted the owner group, Archive, and got the same silly justification ... use the app that doesn't work a lot of the time. I have used The Broadview in the past for business guests and had no issues. I won't be using it in the future.
