Good value clean motel!

If you want a hotel that looks great, has a gym and a pool, then this obviously isn't for you, but North 99 Motel was very clean and very comfortable, and was a great base for a couple of nights exploring Twillingate.
I had Room 4, which is at the back furthest away from the pub and away from the road, so this was very peaceful and quiet overnight, although I could hear people in adjoining rooms in the morning.
The bathroom was spotless and the room had all the essential amenities such as fridge, microwave, coffee maker, a small table and chairs for dining and a really comfortable sofa.
The motel does also have some great views out the back overlooking the bay, and is located on a quiet hill just north of town, across the street from the Twillingate Museum and the Wooden Boat Museum. There are restaurants and grocery stores within a two minute drive, but the motel does also offer a small menu of pub food.
Overall, great value and a friendly welcome on arrival : would stay again if I came back to Twillingate.

Enjoyable

Spent 3 nights here. Very nice helpful, acomadating staff. Very clean and comfortable . There are a few things I would have liked, more storage for extra towels ( ours were in a box in the main room) More hooks in bathroom to hang clothes or a couple of towel rods. There was nowhere to hang wet towels. Shower not senior friendly as nothing to hold onto get out of the tub, which was a bit high for this 85 year old. Need another shelf over the fridge to hold kitchen items instead of having the microwave on top of the fridge, as one shelf was high and I could hardly reach. This is not meant in any way to be negative, just suggestions, as we all enjoyed our stay.

Convenient Stop

Our room was spotlessly clean and space was maximized creatively through the potential use of a Murphy bed. The staircase to the room could be a challenge depending on your capabilities. A fridge and microwave were in the room as well as. But the location was convenient and there was plenty of parking.

Ok but …..

Very clean well organized room in easy accessible location.lots of parking.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Wifi either was very slow or not working, not sure if just that night or always a problem, but was frustrating then.
Microwave and fridge
Bathroom clean.
I found Murphy bed very uncomfortable, trouble sleeping. A regular bEd would be better.
Bar and other rooms can be very noisy.
Good design but bed, noise and wifi are a problem.

Good Choice At A Good Price

This is a newly built 4 unit motel. Rooms are smallish but adequate. Very clean and quiet. Nicely furnished. Murphy bed is comfortable. Also has dining table with 2 chairs, sofa that converts, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Very nice bathroom with great lighting and shower. Lots of quality towels. Heating is electric and works very well.
There were several annoyances. The bathroom counter is unnecessarily small as there is lots of room to have installed a much larger one. The towel rack had been ripped from the wall but not replaced. The lid on the garbage can was broken so did not close. The room had only 1 window while 2 would have been a great improvement.
Overall, do not hesitate to recommend this motel and would undoubtedly stay again if in the area.
