Clean, relaxing, comfortable stay

A nice place where one would love to return after a busy working day. I had a cozy room with furniture in pretty good condition. Nice calming colors chosen for room decor. The bed room and bathroom are super clean and very comfortable. There was everyday cleaning service, all the towels were changed every day, etc. The bed linen was very clean and fresh, too. There were washing machine in the bathroom, hair dryer, a super big and nice mirror, a small fridge, two bedside lamps, TV, air conditioner, many pillows, two nice blankets, a table with a chair, electric tea kettle and other little things that made my stay pleasant. Breakfast options were also quite attractive served from 7 am till 10 am. The personnel is very polite and creates this kind of welcoming atmosphere.

Not like it was

This hotel used to have fantastic steaks at a reasonable price. I just had a ribeye at an eye watering £40 + extra for the greasy rustic potatoes. The Caesar salad came with turkey which were like little pieces of balsa wood and tasted the much the same…it was a shame as I was looking forward to a decent meal. Won’t be back for a while…

Bad service in the restaurant

I ordered two meals, surgeon fish and pasta carbonara, at 1pm. 30 mins later they told me that sturgeon is not available, so we changed the menu to salmon. At 1.50pm, my salmon meal comes but my carbonara yet to come and they told me the waitress didnt take my order. While all other customers have finished their meals, our meal is the last one to come. Very disappointing!

Overnight stay

First look gives impression of higher level of the hotel but in details there are many things which are forgotten. Not working fridge, broken parts of the tiles on the balcony. Limited numbers of sockets. No any maintenance log for the potable water (reverse osmosis probably) so you have not idea how long the water was not run through the filters. Generally room was well cleaned and nice with furniture in good condition. Lobby and hall is nice with nice furniture. Breakfast acceptable.

Highly recommended

Very comfortable clean room with amazing bad, good service, people do this hotel quite special as they treat you as a part of the family, nice breakfast. I recommend this place to people who need relax after busy working days with good quality restaurant Metropole. Live music in restaurant and lobby will make your evening special
