Great Location and Nice Hotel for a Karaganda Stay
Having lived in this city over a decade ago, the niceness of this hotel was a bit surreal. The staff were extremely helpful and eager to serve. The bed was comfy and the room was well-equipped and modern. Included breakfast not lavish, but sufficient. You can't beat the location - right by the mall, big market, and one of the most visited bus stops in the city. For the price, you can't beat this.

Terrible Experience, Unprofessional Service
Unfortunately, I regretted booking this property. It was difficult to find a suitable hotel in Karaganda. I had originally booked Senator Hotel, and I should have kept that reservation instead.
I was extremely disappointment with a check-in mishap that involved the front desk.
I booked (2) suites, since I was hosting guests. My guests were to arrive a bit later, and staff was aware that I wanted my guests to be able to pick up their room key when they arrived.
However, there was a problem when I tried to use my AMEX card for the room payment and deposit. Their card reader was unable to process my card, and the staff could not figure out why. I communicated to the staff that I had cash to pay for the rooms if necessary, but that I had a high preference for using my credit card.
The staff advised me not to worry, said they would check with their administrator on the matter, and they sent me to my room.
Unbeknown to me, when my guests arrived a short while later, the front desk staff demanded that my guests pay for both rooms. The staff explained to my guests that my credit card was not viable, and therefore my guests would need to make the payment before they would be allowed to check in.
The only person who can speak decent English is Ali, Administrator.
My guests had to go to the bank and get a loan to pay for the (2) suites. They did not inform me until the next day, and I was mortified.
As far as the hotel itself, it was okay but not great. The lobby was spacious and nice... but our suite was very basic, and did not feel clean enough for my standards. Breakfast was not the greatest, but there are some American options.
I recommend staying somewhere else in Karaganda. Private apartment rentals are nicer have a much lower price point.

Certainly the best quality accommodation I have had in Kazakhstan!
We were a party of 6 people in the City to run a regional event and the others had used this hotel before and spoke very highly of it. I was seriously impressed with the size and quality of the apartment (we had the 35 sq metre rooms). The design is excellent, with a divider separating the bedroom area, and we were able to use the sitting area for meetings and catch up. This is the first place I have stayed that had universal sockets installed as the standard. The kitchen was sparkling clean and great for making drinks etc. We dined elsewhere in the City but breakfast was a standard buffet, perfectly acceptable. Reception staff were professional and helpful - what's not to like?

needs some work
My criticisms of this hotel are not of the management. The owners are responsible for my main criticism: the air conditioning system cannot be altered by the occupant of the room nor by the staff. I stayed during a very hot period in which room temperatures stayed at 28 centigrade which was very uncomfortable.
Here are some pros and cons:
Pros:
1. Modern, clean hotel
2. Has insuite refrigerator, cooking top and microwave
3. Pretty good restaurant; breakfast buffet is adequate
4. modern mall across the street with a good supermarket
5. Rooms are large with a separate partitioned seating area.
Cons:
1. Front desk staff speak English but just barely; not very helpful about what is available in the vicinity like the supermarket in the mall across the street.
2. Extra carpet in the room can cause tripping.
3. Room thermostats are not adjustable by occupant or staff.
4. Very hard to buy even water with a credit card; they will only accept tenge; they finally found someone who could run the credit card machine so i could buy bottled water.
5. Could use a table and lamp at the end of a sofa in the room. No place to put drink or book.
6. Bedside lighting not great.
Staff were as helpful as they could be. Kazakh people are very friendly and generous. This hotel is well-located. I would recommend it.

New and modern
Three of us needed rooms in Karaganda for a three-day stay. We originally thought this hotel was an apartment rental place (they have them there), but it is a hotel that has small kitchenettes. It was a very modern and new hotel. The rooms were small but very comfortable with a desk. There is a mall across the street for food, although the cafe in the hotel was good, including free omelets on request for breakfast. The price was exceptional for the quality. We enjoyed our stay.
