Wonderful stay at Visiwa Hotel – cozy, peaceful, and full of charm!

We stayed at Visiwa Hotel in Watamu for three nights, and it was an absolutely lovely experience. The hotel is very cozy, beautifully decorated, and perfectly located right by the beach. Everything was clean and well maintained — from the rooms to the garden and the beach area.
We arrived much earlier than the official check-in time, the team made sure we got our room without a long wait. We are truly grateful for that.
The garden is lush and well cared for, and the beach is kept tidy. When we arrived, the ocean currents had brought in some seaweed, but the staff cleaned the beach — such thoughtful service! Our room was cleaned daily.
Breakfasts were wonderful — fresh, natural fruits and real, freshly squeezed juices (not the diluted kind you often get elsewhere!). For dinner, we ordered the large seafood platter, and it was simply delicious — everything tasted incredibly fresh.
The sea-view rooms offer breathtaking views of the ocean. Hotel’s interior design, featuring local artwork, adds a warm and authentic touch. The whole place feels peaceful and personal — perfect for travelers who prefer smaller, more intimate hotels over large, impersonal resorts.
A big thank-you to all the Visiwa Hotel staff for their kindness, professionalism, and great service. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back one day!

The property is an ideal spot for people who don’t want to be in the busiest spot but also not far away from other amenities.

This is my second time staying here. The rooms and hotel in general is very clean. I would rate it 5 stars but when it comes to eating outside, it’s very difficult because of the amount of flies.

Lovely

Nice job lace next to beach on the creek. The place is clean and well managed. Amazing staff very caring and on time. The food is amazing especially the breakfast. I enjoyed my stay

It was a great place to stay at. Perfect views and attentive staff. I would give this place a 5 star. However, our booking for changed when we arrived. We wanted a cottage (we had 2 kids and booked a cottage) but instead got 2 separate rooms. While this looks in the face value as an upgrade, it was to the detriment of our family union and stay together. Other than that, it was a great place to stay and I'd stay here again!
