Excellent all around, esp the sports facilities

the Shangri la is next to the Furama, across from the New World, around the block from the Novotel,and a short ride from the Hilton. Make sure you choose the Shangri La out of all of these.
The Shangri La lives up to its name. The service is friendly, anticipating your needs, and being flexible in a way that meets the needs of international travelers.
The rooms are really big and well outfitted. The tea and coffee are high quality, the toiletries bottles are all full, the towels are plush as you would expect in a five star hotel. All this is not exceptional for the brand but they carry it well even in a 2nd tier city, and at a great price.
The hotel really shines in its facilities—the gym is excellent, spacious and with an excellent spread of equipment. There is an indoor (air conditioned!) tennis court, as well as an outdoor one. The hotel can book hitters for you, though beware It’s first world prices. My only complaint is that the indoor court is a bit dark, and the net was very low. But if it’s pouring outside, I’m sure I can overlook that. The indoor pool is 20 meters, with a lane for lap swimming, and kept at a comfortable temperature. The changing rooms have sauna, steam and jacuzzi. Everything is very clean I didn’t mind walking around in my bare feet.
If I come back to Dalian, I’m staying here!

Very good！It is in the center of Zhongshan district and very close to the park and and gardens. The room is fancy and the view is brilliant!

Check-in experience

Stayed in Shangri-La Superior Queen Room in Dalian, the overall experience was great. The hotel is located in the heart of Zhongshan District, with easy access to Donggang. Rooms are spacious, en-suite with separate bath and shower, hygienic cleaning in place. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel belongs to the established five stars, renovated with a sense of chronology but well maintained. Breakfast is varied, the pool and gym are complete, business or short vacations are suitable, worth coming back.

Overall was a good stay, clean and neat. I felt the hotel itself was a little old and the breakfast spread could be better.
