The room was not ready at 3:30pm on arrival which was disappointing, the lady on reception was initially unhelpful until we pushed on the problem as we had travelled for 20 hours to Guangzhou and needed to rest. Another staff member stepped in and upgraded us and gave us instant access to our rooms.
Always stay at the Baiyun hotel and usually no issues

I had good experience last time I stayed here, which was in 2020. This year, some floors were in construction, so it was very noisy during the day. The area is busy and there are a lot of people walking around all night. I did not mind it last time, but this time, I did not like it as much. There are a lot of electric mopeds snaking in and out on the narrow sidewalks. Very dangerous. The location is convenient. MTR is right in front of the hotel. The hotel feels old. Hopefully it is better after the construction is done.
