We loved our weekend stay here as a quiet and green nature getaway from Shanghai (3hr train ride). We arrived late in the evening, but the provided taxi service from Qingtian was great (40mins, 80rmb). Our host Nancy was so sweet, spoke great English, made us wonderful coffees and even took us on a little tour of the village and vegetable gardens. The accomodation is in a small village with 500yo houses, where mostly elderly people still live. We went on two nice 2-3hrs hikes, to the waterfalls and temple and towards another village. Food was great too: lovely rice flake porridge and many other things for breakfast, free tea and snacks, and in the evening we got a lovely noodle soup. Our lastminute vegetarian request was easily accomodated. Bed and shower were lovely and a good heater was provided to warm the room. Would definitely recommend, we hope to come back in spring to see the flower fields!

A very fulfilling weekend! Came for the red persimmons in the yard, and I was not disappointed at all! Like a red lantern, it's so beautiful! Surprisingly, you can still see the starry sky on rainy days. Not to mention the service of the butler, who taught me to bake egg tarts, and took me to the farm to feed the chickens and ducklings, and shared many interesting stories. They also collected some flower seeds along the way, waiting to be planted next spring. This is why I like homestays!

I have been paying attention to this homestay for a long time, and bring the children to check in before the end of the summer vacation! When you can't travel the world, choose to roam in your own city. Take a nice nap in a stone house with a simple exterior and exquisite interior. Before the sun goes down, under the sunset glow, you can enjoy a cup of tea in a tree-climbing house, a mountain spring pool, and a farm...don't be too beautiful. Reluctant to go down the mountain. I heard that there are also painting and pottery experiences. This time it is too late, so I can only leave it for the next trip. Thanks for the warm hospitality of the housekeeper Monroe, I believe that goodbye will not be too far away.

The boss is super enthusiastic, the service is super good, and the decoration is also very nice. The whole mountain village is very quiet, which is very suitable for two days on weekends. The sound effect on the second floor is very good, haha in the middle of the night, we even secretly made egg fried rice by ourselves, hee hee 😁

Hello, thank you for your review and affirmation. The village is very small and has some village flavor. More than 30 elderly people living in the village enjoy the plain life and natural environment here. Our homestay also has a quiet spirit and a warm smell of fireworks. Kaokeng Ancient Village is a good place for leisure and vacation. The scenery changes in four seasons, and the stone streams are densely forested. You are welcome to come to Manshanju next time to experience the different beauty of Kaokeng Ancient Village!
