The bedroom is really good and the bed are always so comfortables in Atour hotels. You are never disappointed! The staffs are so nice and kind. Breakfast is good and the buffet has a large variety of foods.

One of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept on. The memory foam mattress did wonders for my REM cycle. There’s a small gym and a laundry room with 6 machines. Our room was spacious and nice. Staff was accommodating and let us store our luggage in the hotel for the day.

IMPORTANT UPDATE PART 1: I’ve reflected on the following additional comments for a couple days. At first, I wasn’t going to say anything, but I do think it’s important to address. I do have screenshots and documentation to prove my claims.
I left a 4.7 review. I gave the location 4/5 stars and everything else 5/5 stars. A couple hours after posting the review, I received 6 calls and 4 voicemails from the hotel. They asked if I could change the review, which I said sure to. I enjoyed my time at the hotel and thought the staff was very nice. I rated the location a 4 because it really is far (30-40 minute drive) from a lot of the tourist sites in Kunming. Looking back, I definitely could’ve researched more about the city and booked a closer hotel, but the reviews for this hotel were great so I decided to book this location. Since the location wasn’t too big of a deal to me, I said yes to changing the review.
Here, I want to make it clear that my 4.7 star review was honest. I really enjoyed my stay, but the location did affect the amount of sites I was able to see during the day.
When I was on the phone with the hotel, I let them know that, after checking Trip.com, that the review rating could not be changed. They asked if I could use a Chinese booking app to reserve another night at the hotel, to which I responded that I’m unable to use Chinese booking apps since I’m a foreigner. They said they could reserve another night using the information on file, without me paying, and I would just need to leave another review the following day. I thought they were just reserving another night of the hotel which I did not need to pay for, and needed a verification code for my phone number to do so. I gave them the code that was sent to my phone, thinking this was the case. They asked a couple of questions, which I didn’t understand the full extent of. They logged into CTrip using my phone number. I did give them the verification code, which is my fault for doing so, but again, I did not understand the full extent of the conversation until they started sending screenshots of the booking page.
I felt pressured to agree with them because they had photos of my passport. As a foreigner, it’s standard procedure for the hotel to take pictures of our passports. Booking hotels and trains require Chinese ID numbers, which for foreigners translates to a passport number or passport picture. I don’t want to induce any fear into anyone with this information. I’ve lived in China for four years, and I have never felt unsafe giving my passport information to hotels as this is a standard legal procedure. In this case, with Atour, I felt pressured to agree with them because they had pictures of my passport. I didn’t know what they would do with the pictures and information considering that they were upset with the hotel review.

Top service, staff very friendly and rooms are perfect. Cleanliness and efficiency are top class.
Atour chain is top class in China. I have been staying in a variety of hotels and been sticking to Atour for the last 5 days. Perfect service.
The reception is very efficient even for late check in. Staff go extra miles and help with the luggage.

The hotel is very good, super cost-effective, a conscientious store, and there has been no price increase during the Chinese New Year. Breakfast is served with boxed juice. Although the soy milk was sour one day, it was handled in time. There are also small snacks and flowers in the lobby, and the lobby is also very large. It would be great if there is squatting in the lobby 😁 The location is okay to take a taxi to the city for about 60, the location is also good, and there is a supermarket next to it.
