Excellent stay

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The staff were wonderful and made my husband and I feel at home. It is without a doubt, one of the best personalised experiences we've had at a hotel. We would recommend it very highly.

Terrible service

We stayed here for two nights over the busy national holiday period and unfortunately for us this hotel was one of the only ones available when we booked. We live in China and have basic Chinese so it doesn't bother us if the staff cannot talk English. However what bothers us is that the young guy working there was more interested in smoking and playing on his phone than helping us. When we asked about breakfast the first morning we were told the Ayi was on holidays which is fine because from what we read the breakfast seemed to be average. What we didn't expect was that during our stay that our room would not be cleaned at all. The second morning we left the hotel at 9am and all the staff were still asleep. The only positives for us is that the room is nice and when one of the two little dogs who lives in the hotel left dog poo on our doorstep the young guy who worked there did clean it up very quickly. The hotel is also a little far from the centre of the ancient city.

Due to some personal reasons, I had to leave Lijiang for a while， so I let two young people take care of this holiday temporarily. I also found these problems when I came back, and I feel very sad! Firstly, I reclaimed their management authority, and the two young people already left here. Secondly we ensure that we will clean the rooms everyday to meet the five-star hotel health standards. Thirdly we are very willing to help every traveler in our hotel experience the most localized culture here, so we now have two new features: One is local white girl taking you to buy the most original ecology food and cooking the food in our space. You can also participate in the cooking if you want to have more food and social experience here. The other is that we can teach you to create a local ethnic jewelry, which can be engraved with your unique mark. You can keep the jewelry or give it to your friends. I believe it will definitely be a fantastic experience. We are looking forward that you can come back and experience our new service, I will make arrangements for your holiday personally.

Room is cleaning and very comfortable, but service should be improved.

To be honest, we were happy to stay here, room was so good and had Naxi culture features, we stayed here comfortable. But we are talkable, always want to get more interesting things from staffs, but some of them ingored us, maybe they cannot speak English, we just talked with our Friends, and went outside by ourself. We hoped someone can speak witht us, or maybe staff could guided us to the ancient town would be better.

Good Personal Service in a Poor Building

Booked online, and provided my US credit card to secure the room. When we arrived, we were informed that they ONLY accept Union Pay cards (China-based). Why then would they allow the booking to be secured with a card they don't accept?? We then provided a Union Pay card, but they couldn't figure out how to process that one either, so we were scrambling to find the cash necessary to pay for the room. On the positive side, They went out of their way to help us by picking us up at the airport, and by walking out to the street to flag a taxi for our return to the train station. In addition, we were provided with excellent personal attention by manager Silver, and they kept the room well-stocked with bottled water. On the negative side, however, the hotel does not provide a laundry service to guests, the building is poorly constructed so that even muted conversations from neighboring rooms (or TV noise) are too easy to hear, and street noise also easily penetrates the ill-fitting windows. Room layouts are quirky, closet space was very limited, and bathrooms were far too dark to shave or to put on make-up. In addition, Wifi service was slow and unreliable, and breakfasts never varied from the same tired, old Congee, green tea, and corn on the cob. I am unable to recommend this property, and did not enjoy my 4-day stay.
