Back to Beijing (Part 2)

..this one’s about our stay w/another CapitaLand property, our third Somerset so far (as we usually in ASCOTT properties when on the mainland, but this time was full during our period stay in Beijing)
…So, after Universal Studios in Tongzhou, we moved to our next accommodation in Daxing district, again chosen for its convenient proximity to the newer airport, Beijing Daxing International Airport, particularly on departure day.
The hotel location this time is not the usual walking distance to metro, shopping malls, sidewalk restaurants, etc. I believe she caters more to big groups, eg conventions, meetings. Transportation by car is essential to & from the property; we definitely used ride-hailing/DiDi service each time we went out.
The apartment assigned was as booked. No complains as very homey & comfortable (as per the company’s standard we’ve gotten used to), with the big windows, relaxing color theme and user-friendly fixtures, appliances, etc …
”thank you, Housekeeping Department for the excellent job of keeping our ‘home’ clean, welcoming us back after a day of outings.”
Breakfast was quiet and not overwhelming, but not a lot of western options as some would expect. We were fine as we can easily adapt to the local’s cuisine, no matter which province/district we visit. But we also used 美团, just because..
Overall, another successful stay, capping off our 2nd trip (as a family) to Beijing, albeit snow season was delayed last december.

The first thing that impresses me about the hotel is the efficient and friendly front desk staff. Hotel room amenities are wonderful, full kitchen and laundry all included. Even the washing powder is provided. We are offered free breakfast as I made a mistake of not picking the with-breakfast option. Breakfast is very good, restaurant is large and clean. Food spread is satisfying. The hotel may be rather far from the city but it is very easy to get to city centre by Didi (taxi). It cost about RMB 60 and 30 minutes per trip. It’s also easy to travel by subway+didi and much cheaper RMB 18 and the trip is about 45 minutes from Raffles Shopping Centre.
