2 nights at Chateau Star River hotel

Fantastic ambience. Welcoming reception. Room was very comfortable. The view outside on the balcony was serene. The Bed was super comfortable. Sheets were clean.
Bath room was neat and clean. Both standing and bath tub available. Towels were clean
Overall very comfortable stay.
Breakfast was well stacked. Good for all tastes.

Never clean !!

They never clean your room! They never fix the bugs of the room, all the glasses in our room are dirty!!! Nobody care about room service!

Good facilities, just missing...

In the new part of Shanghai (Pudong) this hotel offers spacious rooms with large bathrooms, equipped with shower and bath and well furnished with many amenities available.
The location is close to the new Pudong Cultural Center and an area with restaurants and other amenities, but far from the city center (about 40 minutes to get to the Bund).
Breakfast is not very varied but offers a wide choice especially with Chinese and Asian foods. The same breakfast room is also used as a restaurant with excellent evening and weekend cuisine.
The quality of the room service food leaves something to be desired.
There is another restaurant available for guests serving only Chinese cuisine.
There are many services such as spa, gym, indoor golf courses, swimming pool and badminton but it is difficult to understand if they are free or paid because... communicating in English is practically impossible.
The reception staff uses electronic translators that do not facilitate communication and are not always accurate.
Finally, it is impossible to go to a floor other than the one where you have your own room (in case a colleague is on a different floor) unless accompanied by the staff.
In any case the hotel is comfortable and the stay pleasant.
