Be Pampered

Authentic Chinese hospitality, always with a smile. Cultural experiences on a budget. Best value in Suzhou. Increasingly great location as the Metro nears completion. Station right at the front door. Rooms are spacious, clean and well serviced. Fruit available daily. Breakfast is wonderful value and selection of foods amazing.

Quiet, lovely furnishings, clean!

This chain hotel is apparently offers properties that are fair to excellent. You can't be sure what you are going to get unless you do some research.
This property is a pleasant facility with beautiful old Chinese decor. The stone and wood furnishings are handsome and give the feeling of a connection with the traditions of China. Even better, they are easily cleaned and maintained, so the hotel does not suffer from the typical stains and dirt that afflict so many Chinese hotels.
Food is good, not great. Breakfast buffet is decent, not inspired, but does serve fresh eggs, satisfactory coffee, and a range of Chinese dishes.
They have a small exercise room, but most of the cable weights are broken. Treadmill and free weights work fine!

Good hotel and conference venue

After attending for a conference in July 2012, I can say this is a very good hotel. The food is fine and caters for both western and local tastes. The gym is good, although underused and likewise the swimming pool (though it is a bit dark). The rooms are nice, well furnished and comfortable. The bathrooms were lovely. The conference facilities were very good also. Free and fast wifi too. The setting in Suzhou was great. The staff were friendly and helpful although their taxi company was more expensive than the local taxis.

Hotel with character

A lovely hotel to stay in. Don't let the furniture in the lobby fool you into thinking this is an old-fashined hotel. It isn't. Just that the furnishings show Chinese heritage. A lot of effort has been put into showcasing that heritage. From the way the door number is displayed for each room, right down to the fittings in the bathroom (see pictures i have posted). Very charming.
Fittings aside, the hotel room was exceptionally clean, beddings and carpet was also well maintained. Room is equipped with a large LCD TV mounted on the wall.
Service was also good, staff were friendly and one bellboy even refused to be tipped! Imagine that! Breakfast buffet had sufficient spread and was generally good.
A full length mirror in the hotel room was lacking in the room, but that's just me being extremely fussy.

Grand hôtel avec une très belle décoration chinoise de classe.

Très bel hôtel situé près d'un grand lac. Ballade pédestre possible autour du lac. Impossible de dialmoguer avec le poersonnel de la réception car seule la langue chinoise est comprise. Déjeuner complet. Chambre très confortable. Possibilité de restaurants à proximité.
