Beautiful, comfortable, safe

We loved our stay here. It's just a block across from the basilica, and a great street to walk on with shops, restaurants, pharmacy, etc. Secure parking in gated lot.
We loved our room with a huge stone fireplace and private balcony. The bnb itself is beautiful, we were so impressed. The complimentary local breakfast was the perfect portion and very tasty. No decaf offered however.

Billing problems! Cuidado!

On our annual Costa Rica trip last winter we went through Cartago to experience a different side of CR through the interior instead of straight to the Pacific. This B&B was ok for the area, though SO hard to get to if traveling thru SJO airport - it took hours driving through San Jose. Parking was across the street in a fenced lot. Very outdated property with frumpy furniture, hard bed, questionable wiring, etc. The breakfast was quite good. Problem was with the credit card charge when we arrived & finally got parked. In a dim hallway outside a tiny dark office, the lady (manager?) charged our credit card $840.75 instead of $84.75. To this day I'm still trying to get a refund of the $756 we were overcharged by accident. Make sure to pay in advance through a reputable company. (Not recommending Booking.com because they've been VERY LITTLE help, although I'm told to expect my money back next week.)

Casa Mora your best Hostel in Carthage.

La Basilica, restaurants and shops just walking. The hosts always pending. Very convenient wifi. Breakfast with fresh fruits and typical tico and the best coffee in the world. The chimes of the Basilica during the day give it that touch of unique sobriety.

"PURA VIDA" my stay at Casa Mora.

Great location. Walking distance to the Basilica, restaurants, stores and Las Ruinas. Host Juan Mora makes you feel at home. My room very SPACIOUS. Wifi at no cost works great. Breakfast NOT doughnut and coffee, a Full breakfast ! To get you ready to explore a most beautiful and historical area.

Cartago city centre

Great place to stay in the centre of Cartago near to the Basilica. Very friendly, lovely rooms and a fabulous breakfast. ( the only drawback is that it is next to the railway line but trains are infrequent and didn't disturb our sleep)
