Anniversary Trip
My wife and I went here for our 5th anniversary trip. I cannot say enough positive things about the staff during our 8-9 days there. Every member of the staff was responsive, well trained, available, and friendly. Not one exception. Impressively friendly and helpful.
The arrival is a great adventure. Commercial flight to San Jose. Then small aircraft to Drake Bay. We were met by staff upon landing. The Lodge has a welcome center by the airstrip. We were then taken by van to beach and took boat ride (approx 30 min) to The Lodge. Staff is well prepared with very large dry bags for luggage. Also rain ponchos if needed for guest.
Water landing for the boat so bring water shoes or just slip shoes off to get into and out of boat.
The food at the restaurants far exceeded my expectations. I expected a good restaurant but the chefs were very consistent in the preparation and presentation every meal. They were helpful with food sensitivities. They were very accommodating with requests. And, most importantly, the dishes were just very, very good.
We had the water heater go out on our first day. A quick Whatsapp message and it was replaced within the hour. Shockingly responsive and fast.
Our room was beautiful. Ocean view villa. The porch looked out into the jungle and we saw toucan, monkeys, hummingbirds, red headed woodpecker - all from the porch on our room. You can see the ocean in the distance. Rain storms were very peaceful and beautiful while resting in the afternoon.
Tours were all great. We hiked the national park, snorkeled, took the whale tour, bird watching on property, and kayaked to San Josecito. The guides were friendly, fluent in English, and very knowledgeable.
We have traveled multiple places in Mexico, Belize, and Jamacia. I was very pleased with our first trip to Costa Rica and the stay at Corcovado Wilderness Lodge. The room, location, and tours were exceptional. But the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the quality of the food was more than exceptional.

The most amazing experience. The staff was always there to help make out stay the best. In fact they were always in standby in a moments notice to take care of any request . Thank you all.

More Than a Stay—An Experience We’ll Never Forget
Our family had a wonderful stay at Corcovado Wilderness Lodge. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make sure our visit was memorable. Their attention to detail and genuine desire to help really set this lodge apart.
One example that stood out was when our family of four realized our two children preferred not to share a bed. We asked if a cot was available, and although they didn’t have one, the very next day they found and delivered a rollaway sleeper to our room. They didn’t have to do that, but they did—and it made a big difference for our family.
Another highlight was for our son, who loves fishing. Since we were unfamiliar with the area, the lodge arranged for one of their staff members to take him fishing one morning. He caught a beautiful fish, and it became one of the most memorable experiences of our trip.
The food throughout our stay was excellent, and every meal reflected the same care and hospitality we experienced in every other aspect of the lodge.
We also had the opportunity to meet one of the owners, who shared the lodge’s commitment to conservation. We were impressed to learn that a portion of each guest’s stay supports environmental research and conservation efforts. Wonderful Trip!
Our stay at Corcovado Wilderness Lodge was outstanding. The facility is beautiful and blends perfectly into the surrounding rainforest. The staff made the experience exceptional—they were warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making our stay memorable.
The wildlife was incredible, with abundant opportunities to see animals throughout the property and during our excursions. Our room was clean, comfortable, and provided everything we needed after long days of exploring.

Unlike anything we have ever seen!
Magical place. Exceptional staff and service. Decent amount of wildlife on property. Beautiful grounds. The ocean villas have the most stunning views possible. Very secluded. Loved the authentic Costa Rican aesthetic in the middle of the rainforest-it was unlike anything we have ever experienced. Wish the food was more fresh and locally sourced..if they are able to improve that then it would be a 5 star stay.
