A Hidden Gem with Five-Star Hospitality

From the moment we arrived at La Negra Surf Hotel later in the evening, the experience was absolutely incredible. Isabella at the front desk welcomed us with such warmth and kindness and immediately made us feel at home. They even kept the restaurant open for us, and we are SO glad they did because the food was some of the most delicious we had during our trip.
Every single staff member went above and beyond. Gustavo always had the biggest smile and was so genuinely helpful, and the next morning the manager Julian personally came over to make sure everything was perfect for us. That level of care and hospitality is rare. They truly treat you like family.
This place is such a hidden bohemian gem. The pool is beautiful, hammocks are tucked everywhere creating the most relaxing atmosphere, and it feels peaceful and secluded while still being just steps from the beach. The coffee, breakfast, and overall food were outstanding ….honestly some of the best we had anywhere …but what stood out most was the service.
The rooms smell amazing, everything is spotless, and every little detail throughout the property feels intentional and thoughtfully designed.
You can feel how much love and care goes into this place.
We cannot recommend La Negra Surf Hotel enough and already cannot wait to come back.

I stayed only one night at the end of my trip to Nosara. An older resort, but clean and comfortable. Just a couple comments: Curtains did not close all the way. Lock was tricky to use. Otherwise a great place to stay.

La Negra is a quaint hotel that is perfect for surfers, or travelers who want a stress-free experience. The hotel is a one minute walk to the beach and close to restaurants and shops nearby. The owners are wonderful and you will feel at home as soon as you arrive.

Relaxing Surf Vacation

I had a fantastic stay at La Negra. The location is perfect. It is right by a path to the beach, which is a prime surfing location. I took surfing lessons with Juan Carlos and can't speak highly enough of him. I am an intermediate surfer and did the 5 lesson package with him. Juan Carlos helped me progress to angling takeoffs, and turning on the face of the wave. He even brought a videographer one session and analyzed it with me afterwards. I would recommend him to any surfer of any level!

Incredible location! Such a close and easy walk to the beach. The pool and hammock were also great and the staff was friendly.
