Room with a View
This was one of 5 hotels we stayed in during our 14 day tour of Costa Rica. Our room faced Arenal Volcano and we were fortunate to have nice views. The beds were comfortable but my favorite part was the nature trail behind the hotel. So many birds and frogs. The restaurant was rather slow but the food was good. It is separate from the hotel.

Absolutely beautiful hotel.
We absolutely loved this hotel. We were in room 8 with a balcony and wonderful view every day of the Arenal volcano. We were here for 6 days in April and only had around 1 hour of rain the whole stay. The breakfast is great and the food in the on site restaurant was so good that we ate there twice. We also ate at several excellent sodas in town. This hotel is two minutes walk from the beautiful town center. There is a walk way behind the hotel that is gorgeous and full of wildlife including a sloth. There is a steam that runs by this trail that is full of fish. The restaurant staff can give you feed for the fish which is fun. I would walk the trail every morning before breakfast. One of my favorite things to do. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Charming, well-located hotel with wonderful staff
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Monte Real in La Fortuna and were very happy with both the service and the location. The property has a lovely natural feel, with a peaceful rolling river at the back that creates a true Pura Vida atmosphere, quiet, green, and relaxing.
The staff were outstanding throughout our stay. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely helpful, always ready with a smile and assistance whenever needed.
The complimentary breakfast was excellent, with several delicious options to choose from each morning. Our room was comfortable and well maintained, with thoughtful touches like a fridge and a modern shower with convenient dispensers for both body wash and hair products.
The hotel is centrally located and very walkable to shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and nearby parks, making it easy to explore La Fortuna on foot.
Overall, Hotel Monte Real offers great value, charm, and warm hospitality. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting La Fortuna.

Great view of the volcano from my balcony. Breakfast was great in the restaurant next to the river. The flowers and plants on the property were beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Great location in La Fortuna. Close to restaurants and shops and access to all tours.
Lovely grounds with beautiful trees and flowers, plenty of birds and wildlife.
Rooms a little dated but functional and clean.
Breakfast a little sparse so was only aspect that let it down. However would certainly recommend.
