Perfect quality price

Nice cozy and clean hostel, friendly and helpfull staff. Family environment. Very good location. They offer coffee in the morning for free :) super close by the bus stop, the beach and restaurants and shops.

Good location but don’t worth the price

We chose that hostel on the very last minute during our trip to Montezuma.
The location is great, close to the center of Montezuma and close to the beach!
Nevertheless, we paid almost 40$ for a double room with shared bathroom.
We were really surprised by the price, especially for a hostel.
The rooms are very cheap, super thin walls, and only 1 bathroom for the ground floor which is 6-8 rooms (but 2 bathrooms in total the hostel).
Anyways, good people and location but too expensive for what it is.
If you have a car, you can find better place a little bit up the hills.

It was not our best stay.

We are a family of 4 and rented a 3 person room. I had sent a message to the hostel asking if it's possible to put an extra bed in the room and they said yes! I was skeptical given the pictures I had seen, but because the reviews were so good, I went with it. Unfortunately, there was no way to put another bed in the room. And perhaps because there were 4 of us in the room, it was extremely hot in there that night. It's possible the fan was barely working and when I finally uncovered the window to allow more airflow, a skunk sprayed somewhere outside the window! Just bad luck there, no way the hostel could control that. But it was the icing on the cake for me.
So, despite the pleasant family atmosphere, it is not roomy enough for a family in one room. The bathrooms were not particularly well kept, but clean. And the kitchen was well equipped. The hammocks were the absolute best part of this hostel.
Remember to bring cash and there are no ATM's in Montezuma!

Highly recommended

I would like to recommend this place to those who value safety, cleanliness and a Tico family atmosphere. It is coveniently located, close to a bus stop and the beach. You can see monkey, iguanas and armadillos. The rooms are no frills but good value and immaculately cean. I love the big and very well-equipped guest kitchen and hammock area.

a cheap and nice place to sleep few days in a good environment

We spent just one night but the price is so good considering the conditions. The rooms are tiny but comfortable and clean. The people were so educated and they gave us as many information as we need.
If you look for a cheap place and like to meet people in the hostel, this is your place to be in Montezuma.
