Good in parts.

La Foresta is located about a 30 minute drive from the beach and the National Park so it’s not the closest accommodation. The fact that the hotel is right on the main coast road is something that the management can’t do anything about; traffic has probably increased considerably since the place was built but the noise is constant and considerable. The local airport is also nearby and we heard light aircraft overhead.
The grounds, outdoor restaurant and bar are lovely and the swimming pool is beautifully clean and well maintained. Our room (112) was spacious with large comfortable beds, table and chairs, a fridge, safe, wardrobe, a/c and ceiling fan. Outside there were rocking chairs and a handy clothes drying rack.
Unfortunately there were areas that let down the experience. Service was lacking. There was a water chiller in reception but the bottle was often empty. At breakfast staff didn’t notice what had run out, they wandered off and were not available to serve. The buffet was poor and items were not replenished, coffee pots empty, hot water not hot enough to infuse tea, no jam for the toast.
Fortunately our tour leader took us for dinner elsewhere because on the evening we ate in house we waited for over an hour for the food because the kitchen had not been adequately staffed for the number of residents and was overwhelmed. The food was very expensive and not very good. The falafels consisted of 3 modest breadcrumbed pieces on a bed of shredded lettuce with some undercooked flatbread at $20. Two mushrooms stuffed with mozzarella $18. Meat and fish were considerably more expensive.
Behind the hotel is an area of natural forest with trails. Wildlife was spotted in the gardens including large lizards, an anteater and troupe of monkeys.
The potential is there but shortcomings need to be addressed.

Cannot say enough good things about the awesome staff! Helpful,friendly and professional. Breakfast was always good as was our dinners. The place is spotless and beautiful.

First class experience

A simply perfect and unforgettable experience
Our stay was undoubtedly extraordinary from start to finish. The hotel stands out for its impeccable level in all aspects: facilities in perfect condition, unbeatable rooms and an absolutely impeccable cleanliness, really immaculate.
Customer service deserves special mention. Krisna, at reception, provided us with warm, professional care and always ready to help, setting the tone from our arrival. In the restaurant, Marquitos offered us a phenomenal service, attentive and with an excellent attitude at all times. Jairo complemented this experience with exceptional treatment, characterized by his genuine kindness and dedication.
We were delighted to see Alexis and Don Omar, who have such fond memories and friendship over the years.
The trails of the place are simply from another planet: a unique natural experience that further elevates the charm of the destination.
We shared this wonderful experience with a group of friends from Mexico, and we all agreed that it was an outstanding stay, full of memorable moments.

Spring Break

We had a lovely visit for spring break! All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and clean with great air conditioning! The grounds were beautiful and meticulously maintained.

AC had trouble in one of the rooms. Asked for it to be fixed and 2 days later still nothing so asked again and they finally got it working. WiFi didn’t work in our room either but it would work if we walked out the front door…. Power went out when it rained several times but only stayed out momentarily. The grounds were nice and the staff friendly but we had trouble with our rooms AC and wifi so we were not too happy but maybe our experience was not typical. It seemed like it should have been nice, so maybe we just had bad luck. The included breakfast was pretty terrible though if I’m being honest. ;)
