Excellent

The accommodation is located a little away from the dirty and hectic center. The area is relatively quiet. There is a bus station nearby. The accommodation is combined with a restaurant with a delicious breakfast. The room is basic, but the sleep was one of the best I had during my trip. But the biggest plus is the staff. It helped me with medical issues and gave useful advice that allowed me to continue my journey. Thank you so much for your hospitality :)

Historic home, interesting features

The floors, bathroom and bed are clean... thank you! The heritage fixtures, tall doors, interesting tiles make this a very different feel from the sterile, uninteresting modern hotels. We stayed one night in order to be close to an appointment in the city. The staff is very friendly and helpful! There needs to be some upgrade with the electric plugs since the reception was unable to get their debit /credit machine to function. Also, every time we needed to leave the building someone had to come to punch in the combination to open the front door. This could be dangerous... at the very minimum it was inconvenient for the staff. Is there no way to install a lock so that the door can be opened from the inside? We stayed in a room closer to the back so did not hear the traffic. We would go again, though.

Mamma mia!!!

Nice position but extremely noisy. Very early in the morning street noise is so high you cannot sleep.
Room was large but very old with too many probkems in electric and water systems...No maintrinance at all.
Room was dirty. Only plus for this structure was price.

Good value, basic accommodation within walking distance of the centre.

The room was spacious with a large, comfortable double bed, plenty of floorspace and storage. The bathroom was large. The setup for late arrival was good. Breakfast was poor and I would have been better getting it away from the hotel. They had a lack of ingredients so there was no choice. Don't be fooled by there being a menu.
The room had a window, but it was so high I could not see out. I think it looked out onto a wall anyway, as not much light got in.

Outlook World Challenge

We took a group of 15 to Aldea Hostel at the end of a three week trip. It was the best hostel we visited in Costa Rica. Comfortable beds, warm showers and a great atmosphere. Lots of hang out areas, well equipped kitchen area and coffee on tap! The situation is very central, easy walk to shops and restaurants. Really great service, could not recommend enough. Curfew is 11pm. A really beautifully decorated, interesting building. Clean everywhere, rooms and communal areas. Outside space too.
