Really needs updating
It's about 20mins walk out of town centre. Walk along a busy road. It really needs a good face-lift. We had one of the better rooms. Broken coffee table in the fitted wardrobe and bathroom window hinge was broken so couldn't leave it open. Other people in our group had worse experience. On our return at the end of the tour we were given the better rooms. So the better rooms need updating. Look if you're staying one night before or after a tour its okay, longer and you might want to look elsewhere.

Do not recommend.
Unclean and outdated- nothing “boutique” about it. Avoid rooms 11-14, at the top of the stairs by foyer. We could hear the doorbell going off all night as people entered late in the night. The pillow was flat as a pancake and the bed hard and uncomfortable. Avoid at all costs! Don’t understand why Intrepid & G Advenures use this hotel.

Not a good choice
I stayed in this hotel before but is going down fast. In my last visit I got a parking ticket because i had to wait for the parking to be open and the front desk lady never stop her phone call with her boss to take care of me. The breakfast was the worse, I could not eat. Even for a homeless was good. . I also live in Costa Rica, please do not bring people there, is not a good place. A homeless also broke a car window inside of the parking. My lavatory Water did not drained. I reported that issue many months ago and still not fix. Avoid this place and agencies, please do not bring people there.

Unclean hotel
The bathroom was not clean. The hotel doorbell could be heard constantly going off, there must be a better system that doesn't disturb guests. They did have WiFi and a comfortable bed. If you want easy access to night life this might suit you, yet for me a unclean room is unforgivable in this industry.

Filthy and unsafe room
Family run hotel desperately in need of updating and some TLC.
This is the room I chose
Description :
SUP1B-Superior Room 1 queen Bed: Our superior rooms are comfortable and spacious They have a private patio with garden view that offers an environment of peace and relaxation in the middle of the city. Refrigerator with one queen bed. All have WI-Fi and internet
Firstly there was no refrigerator, the garden was wild, overgrown and the furniture outside was dirty and unusable.
Most items in the room were filthy and nothing appears to have changed from the review on trip advisor posted March 25.
Filth wise the most offensive was the mattress heavily stained, wall (drip marks), toilet bowl (stained yellow) floor (dirty and gritty), fans caked in dirt, towels (old and stained) lampshade (covered in dust) headboard (dusty) shower cubicle (cracked mouldy tiles) and damp on the walls.
Maintenance wise the electric plug was hanging out of the wall, neither lamps worked, the safe needed a key, broken windows in both bathroom and bedroom allowed so many mosquitoes to come in.

We asked to speak to the manager at reception the next morning who told us she was day off and the owners lived in Florida, we said we were unhappy with the room and he was unhelpful so we booked another hotel and left! We had booked for 5 nights and left after 1 and didn’t sleep for that one night and got bitten by mosquitoes coming through the window gap.
The Hotel is in a good location, apart from the customers at The Fallen Stag pub/nightclub 20 m away who kick out at about 5/5.30 am, loud singing and shouting and in the morning beer bottles left everywhere in the road, no wonder the hotel is encircled by metal bars everywhere.
We didn’t bother with a breakfast.
Obviously wouldn’t advise anyone to stay at this ‘hotel’
