Great accommodation on the Rio Celeste

The family-run posada is perfect for families. Our room was more than spacious, had a kitchen and was spotlessly clean.
There is a beautiful garden all around, through which you can take a guided tour by the owner if you wish.
The breakfast is typical of the region and also completely OK.
It takes about 15 minutes to drive to Rio Celeste, and restaurants can be reached in a similar amount of time. There is a small mini-market diagonally opposite if you want to buy drinks or something similar.

A pleasant friendly stay

The hotel/B&B is relatively easy to find. I'd say it's a 10-15min drive to the Rio Celeste National Park.
The hotel is quite sweet and the hosts are pretty friendly and welcoming.
The room is ok, it's clean, cute and pretty minimal in it's decor. The only negative for me is the lack of air conditioning. It ended up not being really much of an issue as i got a good nights sleep. But i think i would have felt more comfortable with a bit of A/C.
On a separate note, the phone reception round there isn't the best. I couldn't pick up Claro Mobile anywhere around there. The B&B has wifi, but it's only really workable in their restaurant area. If you're desperate, take a short walk further into the village. As you get to the main crossroads, perhaps 5metres from it. There's a signpost/possibly a bus stop. On the sign gives you the details to sign into some free wifi.
Apart from this, the breakfast was yummy. I do love Costa Rica's typical breakfast.
Would i stay there again, possible not. But don't let my opinion put you off. It's ok for a nights stay.

Peaceful, quaint and surrounded by gardens

This is a wonderful place to stay, if you want to be surrounded by birds, plants trees and nature. The host family is wonderful and breakfast was great. This property hast 3 or 4 cabins that are perfect for a short stay while visiting Tenorio, Bjiaquas or even Miravelles .Restaurants and tourist sights are nearby on paved roads.Great Value for your money .Comfy beds and spotless cabins.

Tenorio National Park Visit

We spent a couple of nights at Rio CelestePosada Rural between Christmas and New Year. The grounds are very well kept and we greatly enjoyed the many birds each morning. The proprietors are very friendly and extremely helpful. We took advantage of the breakfast and dinners as well to experience some simple but very good Costa Rican food. Each morning we got in addition to the food we ordered a really good pineapple. It was probably the best pineapple we had in all of Costa Rica. The cabin we stayed in was simple but clean with running hot water in the shower. We had a huge covered area next to our cabin to sot down which we mostly used for birdwatching in the morning. The place is very near the Tenorio park entrance. There is a supermarket close by.

disappointed. false advertising

they didn't speak english at all, we were doing pretty good with our spanish everywhere else we had been, no troubles. they had advertised that a trip into the park with a guide was included which it turned out they wouldn't stick to this even though it was written as so, which we showed them. then they were going to send us with their son as a guide, he spoke no english either so it would have been impossible to learn about the amazing nature. they did get us a guide who was very knowledgable after we insisted. we did have to pay extra for the park and the transportation there, which we should not have had to. i will say the food there was good.
