Nice hostel with some renovation needs

We had a house with private bathroom and kitchenette. The house was really spacious and had views to three sides into the garden/jungle. The breakfast was very good and in the bar you could sit comfortably in the evening and eat something. The whole facility could use a fresh coat of paint again;-)

You get much more than you pay!

This place is so much more than just somewhere to stay — it’s a space where you can feel safe, relax, enjoy yourself, and connect with others. The Flutterby team is among the kindest people I met during my trip to Costa Rica. They offered great local recommendations, served delicious breakfasts, and created a fun, positive atmosphere. They also allow pets! If you prefer more privacy, you can book the family room — it has its own kitchen and bathroom. You can’t beat the quality for the price. If I visited Uvita again, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else!

Nice but lacks maintenance

We spent 2 nights in this property, in a private room with shared bathroom.
The place is well located and has nice common areas (yoga, hammock, billiards, ...), as well as a clean communal kitchen.
However, the room is badly lacking in maintenance (the mattress should be changed, the fan makes too much noise, ...) and equipment (mirror, storage, ...).
The bathrooms have only the bare minimum but are generally clean.
The staff is friendly but gives no information - too bad.
The restaurant serves very good food!

Fun bar and great way to meet people in Uvita!!

I didn’t stay here, just hung at the bar but the staff are soooooo nice and helpful! Fernando (I think that’s his name?!) is the owner and is an absolute doll. Shelby and the new Israeli volunteer (so sorry I’ve forgotten your name) are so sweet and I loved getting to chat with them. Oh! And Miguel is the absolute cutest puppy and you should hire him to keep attracting tourists into your bar. Loved the beer options they had. Thanks you guys!!

Best place to stay

This place is just amazing. I was there with my mother for two weeks (can't speak one word Spanish btw). The people are outstandingly lovely, generous and in general have a great vibe. The food is affordable, fresh and veryyy good (we loved the fresh salad!). The houses are like a small village in the jungle that is just 5 min walking distance from the beach, so you can hear the waves, which is beautiful to wake up. Everything at Flutterby House was more than we expected and they even took care of a lovely dog we found on the streets and treat him with a lot of love since then. If you're in Uvita or close – come by and be convinced yourself. We would give them a hundred stars here if we could.
