Truly Lithuanian

Spent 2 nights at this property. If you are looking for a rural, tasteful and unique Lithuanian stay this is the place you should stay. The lodging only has a few rooms but all are of good standard. The owner Rolandas is a a delightful and engaging proprietor. He takes a personal interest in all his guests and it shows. The property is a wood lodge and room #1 that I stayed in was huge. I felt if I had been transported back 40 years by staying at this lodge, as it was simple and peaceful. It is right along a river and life seems to move slowly like the river. The breakfasts are really, really good and again done with a personal touch. You will feel like you are sitting at your grandmothers table. Plenty of choices and all them are tastefully presented and prepared. It was one of my favorite parts of the stay. if you want to experience rural Lithuania then look no farther.
The internet was a little spotty and the walls a little thin but overall would highly recommend the place!
It is about 50km from Kaunaus but the drive is easy.
I gave it an excellent rating because for 30 euros a night you could not ask for better. You won't find luxury but it is unpretentiously unique.

Very special and unique place

Very original place. A very beautiful house in ethnic style and nice surrounding. The owner is an architect and ethnogropher - very interesting, friendly and nice person. The house is amazing! There are so many interesting things, pictures, furniture in it. The owner told a lot of interesting about traditions and history of this place. In the morning he proveds a fantastic breakfast! He welcomes guests like real friends! Very beautiful nature: a river in front of the house. You can see horses and sheep, and birds on the river. Everything in the house is beautiful and made with love! It is a very special and unique place!
