No need to stay elsewhere
What singles out a place from others is when you can call it home. Lultzhausen youth hostel is one of those. It felt so much like home when staying at this place. Needless to say that everything is top of the crop, rooms are like new and clean as if in a hospital, the breakfast buffet is ultra fresh and more than generous with ham, boiled eggs, fruits, cereals, coffee at will, excellent fresh bread at will etc. Also the location is absolutely beautiful and very peaceful (probably a bit less at summertime), very quiet, the surrounding nature is lush and generous, lots of pictures to be shot.
I need to leave a special mention for the pillar of this place, who answers to the name of Paula. When Paula is there you know it because she never leaves anyone or anything unattended, simply put. Actually she doesn't leave you much of a choice, you are her host and there's nothing that can change that. Who could ask for more? Just like home.

Not for me
Definitely don’t go in the off season unless you’re willing to drive to get even a cup of coffee. They close all catering at 4 and the restaurant doesn’t open with the excuse that there are not enough people. Standards have really slipped too. Had been here in the past and it was OK but now it’s showing its age! Only good thing are the views of the reservoir.

Nice stay with nice view over the lake
I had a good time in this youth hostel.
I booked a bed in a room for 4 and I had a nice time with Laura from Paris.
The breakfast is rather basic and the coffee not really outstanding.
However, the atmosphere was good and everything was clean (which is most important after all).
You can make pretty amazing walks around the lake and in the neighbourhood.
WiFi is not always working properly

They have decreased the quality of service year after year, which is reflected in:
1. They do not provide the services that they claim to have because there were none when I stayed: canoe or kayak, the table tennis table is broken, they still provided it but they charged us 10 euros for the loan of the rackets and the ball that they did not return.
2. The lady who is in charge of serving breakfast always looks at you derogatory. And on the menu they no longer serve the protein and salad they used to.
3. The shower in our room was dirty.
The only thing to highlight and stand out for his human quality, excellent service and proactivity is the chef of June 6, 2022, named Chris. The menu worthy of a good hotel.
Otherwise, I always went to celebrate my birthday, but now I understand why people go to Lultzhausen and don't book a room to stay overnight.

Family friendly and pleasantly surprised.
Stayed here with the family, two adults and a four and five your old.
Very pleasant hostel. Clean new and well maintained.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Food was nice. Nothing fancy just a daily menu which was more than decent for the amount of money.
Location is stunning even in Oktober when all the seasonal activities are no longer available.
