You can take a walk and explore the neighbourhood area of the hostel — Kelenföld vasútállomás, Gellert Baths and Buda Castle.At the hostel Spend an evening in a nice atmosphere of the bar. In the shared kitchen, you can cook anything you want. Want to be always on-line? Wi-Fi is available. If you travel by car, you can park in a parking zone. Also, the following services are available for guests at the hostel: a doctor. You will find these entertainment amenities on the premises: a picnic area and a barbeque area. At the guests’ disposal, there’s also a laundry.

Great time with friends at this hostel!
My experience with Balash was absolutely amazing! We had a number of talks the two of us or with other friends into the evening. He is a very intelligent and kind person. I stayed her from July 3 to August 5 2025 and had an amazing time! Many neat people came through from all over the world who I befriended. There are two grocery stores very close by that I was able to use. (Aldi and Lidl) I enjoyed a couple traditional Hungarian dinners that he cooked as well. The kitchen was large enough and the bed was very comfortable. I highly recommend this place to anyone coming through Budapest!

The worst accomadation in my life
Unfortunately I prepaid for the whole month for it. My friend checked this house before my arriving and landlord showed her only beatiful part of the house, but when I arrived I was given disgusting small room in the basement. It was full of dust and web, a small carpet had top level of human hair and dust. I was provided not the kitchen from website photos, but another one with mold, web and other beauties. Bathroom was a bit better, just dirty. Also almost every day there was renovation in this basement. I expected to be on the light clean floor which you can find in the pictures in the internet, but landlord lied to me and to my friend. He even didn’t show all of this before I gave a money. So I was very depressed the first several days there. Please be careful, better to select accommodation where people have some conscience.

This is the furthest from the truth.
This person have never stayed in the Hostel, she rented a room in the same House, which was done by the same management, but it had nothing to do with the Hostel. The two doesn't work with the same conditions, and obviously the prices are different, too. For example: People staying in the Hostel have a daily cleaning service, while people staying for long term with a signed contract, has the responsibility to clean themselves, like at any normal real-estate contract. This lady was clearly mixing up the two. As she was there with a normal real-estate contract, which we explained to her, and was detailed in the contract which she signed as well - she was responsible for the cleaning through her stay, which she demanded from us.
Also, it has to be mentioned, that she came just by the begining of the unfortunate 2022 war of Russia and Ukraine, so even though she is from Belarus, we saw her kind of as a 'political' refugee, even though, she was not, so we offered her a room for 200 eur total for a month, which is a very discounted price - just to help, and accepted her to sign contract only for 1 month with us until she figures out about her residency, job possibilities and all that. Very important to mention this: 200 eur in the Hostel environment would pay only about 5-6 days in the private room. And this is the price for what we gave the room to her for the whole month! This is how we tried to help...
The story about the beautiful and non beautiful parts of the house are just simply not true either, I mean we understand she prefers one floor over the other, but how the story is being told is simply just far from the truth. The House has 2 floors and both have the same standards and of course some advantages, as on the other floor the kitchen is truly larger, and functions as a living room - the floor, where this woman was staying - is more calmer, has a direct garden access to a 800 sqm garden, and her room she was staying at, had a private kitchen, private toilet and a private shower (!!!!!), used by herself alone, which no other room has. Of course, she had the access to the other floor as well, which she seems to have preferred, so she could have went there any time, and use any of the common areas. The room sizes and conditions are exactly the same on both floors. The floor she was staying at though, compared to how she say it- is not a basement, it's a normal ground floor. (You can see the entrance doors on the garden photos).
The story about showing the beatiful parts of the House to her friend is just simply also not true. Her friend came to see the House in February 2022, when we showed the only existing available room, and we were ready to give it right away, but after several postponing, Veronika arrived only 1,5 month later (we could have terminate our agreement, but given the fact, she was fixing visa and the war was happening and all this, we did try to be flexible and decided to wait) - so when she showed up 1,5 month later, the room we showed to her friend was already taken, and the other room was available only. Pure logic. Like I said, the rooms are having the exact same conditions, we did not change nothing - actually the room we gave her, compared to the other one her friend saw had a private shower, toilet and kitchen as well (!!!!!), so it was a higher quality room (!!!!) just the only difference that it was on the other floor (!!!!).
Interestingly, we had a small community living in our House, as you can research it on our instagram, and we've spent loads of happy moments together - being almost every evening together in the Garden, talking, cooking, having a glass of wine or a beer, playing sports or card games, playing music, watching movies and so on, while Veronika unfortunately have never joined us for a minute through the whole month, but made sure to show an angry face each time we met, and any person tried to open and communicate to her (people from Chile, Iran, France, Croatia, Germany, Turkey, US, Iceland, Poland, and many others - and of course, several of us, Hungarians). So our relation stayed cold and unhappy, we never managed to overcome or discuss, we never even shared 1 word, even though we were always ready for it - she only intended to keep an offended profile, and she did. At the final day she left with a lot of noise, causing deliberate damage and all this. We are very sad.
