When location matters
Well positioned to river, markets and city shopping precinct making it easy to get around just by walking. The ambience is modern, warm and relaxing. Rooms were ok but felt dated but overall good value. Service throughout reception and bars was prompt and friendly.

Our home away from home in Budapest
After many stays, Budapest Marriott has become much more than simply a hotel we book when visiting the city; it genuinely feels like our home away from home.
Of course, the location on the Danube and the views are wonderful, but what keeps bringing us back is the consistency of the service and, above all, the trust we have developed with the hotel and its team over time.
We travel frequently, and Budapest is often our base between different trips. On several occasions we have left our suitcases with the hotel while travelling elsewhere, sometimes for a week or even two, and returned to collect them afterwards. The fact that we are completely comfortable doing this probably says more about how much we trust this hotel than any rating could.
During our most recent stay, we were very pleasantly surprised by a complimentary upgrade from our booked Deluxe room to an Executive room as a Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite member. We also chose to add access to the M Lounge and enjoyed both the lounge and the attentive service throughout our stay.
There was one issue with late-night music coming from the Danube promenade outside the hotel. The hotel explained that the situation was outside its direct control, but what impressed me was what happened afterwards. After we had already checked out, I received a personal email acknowledging the disturbance and explaining that the hotel had submitted an official complaint to the relevant authorities and was continuing to follow up.
No hotel can control everything that happens outside its doors. What matters is how a team responds when something goes wrong, and this response only reinforced the trust we already have in Budapest Marriott.
There are many hotels in Budapest, and from time to time I look at other options when planning our trips. Somehow, I always end up closing the search and booking Budapest Marriott again. Familiarity, consistency and trust are difficult to replace.
Thank you to the entire team for making us feel recognised and genuinely welcome every time we return. We will certainly be back, as always.

A truly memorable stay in Budapest
From the moment I arrived, everything about my stay at the Budapest Marriott Hotel felt special.
I had chosen the hotel hoping to enjoy the August 20th fireworks from my room, and the reception team went above and beyond to make sure I had the view I had hoped for. It turned an already special evening into a truly unforgettable experience.
The room-service breakfast the following morning was outstanding — beautifully presented, delicious, and made even better by that incredible view over Budapest.
But what impressed me most was not the room, the view or even the breakfast. It was the people.
There are many beautiful hotels, but it is becoming increasingly rare to find a place where you genuinely feel welcome rather than simply being a guest with a room number. At the Budapest Marriott, I felt that warmth throughout my stay. The kindness, professionalism and sincere smiles of the staff made all the difference.
For me, genuine hospitality is what turns a good hotel into a memorable one — and a sincere smile on the faces of the staff is still the best marketing a hotel can have.
