Couple getaway.
The hotel is small, with hardly any common areas, but the rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The staff is very friendly, and the location is perfect, right next to the 100E bus stop to/from the airport, bus lines 9 and 15 that connect to the main tourist spots, and the metro, line 2 just a few minutes' walk away. There are a couple of supermarkets very close and several restaurants in the area.

Small Hotel, Spacious and Comfortable Room
Hotel Gin is a small hotel with very limited common space, but that did not affect our stay at all. Our room was surprisingly spacious, very comfortable, and a great place to relax after a full day of sightseeing. The staff were incredibly freindly and always made us feel welcome. The location is extremely perfect for exploring Budapest: the 100E airport bus stop is right next to the hotel, buses 9 and 15 provide easy access to many of the main tourist attractions, and Metro Line 2 is only a few minutes away on foot. There are also a couple of supermarkets nearby, which was very convenient, plus plenty of restaurants in the surrounding streets. We had an excellent stay and would happily choose Hotel Gin again on our next trip to Budapest.

Great location, AC/fridge below expectations in summer
For the second visit of Budapest, the hotel location was so convenient. Close to Metro station, great restaurants and cafes in the neighborhoods. The interior design was tasteful, and the place was quiet day and night. There was no restaurants in the hotel, no facilities except for rooms and a reception area - which kept the hotel almost like an apartment building. Cleaning service was good, nothing to complain. Shower, toilet all clean and works perfectly. Bed was hard, which we liked. Wifi was more less stable, but got cut off multiple times during 30 min video conference.
Budapest in late July to August can be as hot as 40 degrees. The fridge in the room did not keep the drinks cool. Drinks stayed in the room temperature. The in room AC said it could keep to 18 degrees, but it was like 25+ degrees. I ordered a bottle of Hungarian wine to the room, and it was brought with room temperature. Basic infrastructure of the hotel when it comes to keeping clients cool during hot summer days was as low as the level of youth hostel. It did not meet the basic needs, unfortunately.

If only the cleaning lady had cleaned…
My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Gin from July 3rd to the 7th.
Convenient location, very beautiful hotel, kind staff, very clean common areas.
A serious problem in our opinion was the fact that the cleaning lady did not clean the room. Once she made the beds and dried the bathroom, her work was finished there, and we found the carpet and the bathroom sink counter (black) dirty for all the days we stayed. A service more like a B&B than a hotel, but paid for like a hotel.
Would I go back? I don't know, because the poor cleanliness of the rooms makes me question the maintenance of the carpet, which as we know is certainly not a sterile environment on its own.

Beautiful hotel, very clean and friendly employees, the beds and the pillows are something I won’t miss, the room definitely lacked certain comforts as the pillows were completely flat and the beds hard and springy.
