a real jewel in many parts - a real gem in many areas...

A beautiful place for relaxing and coming down.....unbelievable that places like this still exists and are available without "goldcards"....beautiful rooms with fridge, kettle, dishes, etc....cozy wellness area, all very clean, extremely friendly staff - family-run, a delicious extensive breakfast buffet with several hot dishes and everything freshly prepared

Delightful

The hotel is small, but very pleasant. It is situated in 15 minutes from the lake with medical water - the main attraction of the town. Another lake, the largest one in this part of Europe, the Hungarian Sea - Balaton is accessible by bus going Heviz-Keszthely (about 1$) or by bicycle (about 10$ a day rent). It has paid and free beaches as well. The former vary from 2$ to 4$, the latter have neither showers, changing cabins nor drinking water. The entrance to the water is equipped everywhere, though. The water is not limpid, but clean, with silt or sand on the bottom.
Getting back to the hotel, we had perhaps the best room right above the entrance. It has many windows and a large balcony. Inside we had a refrigirator, a safe box (20$ pledge returnable) and a bath. Air conditioning is not free, so we didn't use it, though the weather varied from very hot to mild, it rained two times in the morning. Breakfasts are very good, much more than continental, watermelons are worth to be mentioned specifically. There is a jacuzzi and a sauna in the hotel. The accommodation and service was above all expectiations, many thanks to all involved.
Speaking about the town there are a few entertaintments, events, live music along with the lake itself. As for the treatment procedures, I personally did not feel any immediate effect. If you stay more than a week, it is more convenient to buy 10 hours for 10 days. You can also swim in the channel flowing out of the lake, for free. You can also drink medical water, which smells eggs.
A marketplace helds 3 times a week. We also liked ice cream very much.

One of the best accommodations in Héviz - perfect and very safe choice - keeping the high standard year after year

After re-visiting Hotel Sante again we are glad to report (again) that this small hotel is able to keep the high standard and the proper level of services, year, after year. It has to be difficult, considering the high concurrence in Héviz. But this hotel, run by a family, is exceptionally clever to focus on the individual needs of the guest, providing very clean facilities and a “feeling at home” atmosphere. Many other reports in Tripdavisor emphasized already the cleanness and the very convenient sizes of the rooms and bathrooms, good quality of beds, prover, very quiet sleeping conditions, fresh air, nice view, etc, many strength of Hotel Sante. We do not want to repeat these strengths, but would like to emphasize (again) the high quality of breakfast. While many other fancy hotels serve “industrial” tourist breakfast, such as industrially processed scrambled eggs, the family at Sante is taking energy to prepare very fresh breakfast every morning, using locally produced, high quality vegetables, eggs and other ingredients. They prepare very individual variations of dishes, with a lot of energy, fantasy and care. The very healthy, tasty, locally purchased buffet breakfast is a considerable strength of Hotel Sante – among other strengths. If we visit the beautiful lake and small town of Héviz again, we shall certainly stay at Hotel Sante again, because this small, family-run hotel is a perfect and it is a very safe, reliable choice.
