An oasis in the summer

In the middle of August you want to make sure there is AC in your lodging.
So that is what we made sure we got.
It has a good location walking distance from downtown but far enough to be more quiet. Not that Nyirbator is a wild town!
Our room had a kitchenette -which we did not use-. Very comfortable, super clean, with a fridge important to me to have frozen bottles of water for next day, TV with a few English channels, and breakfast was included. Off street parking for our rented car. We loved to stay there. We did not use any of the spa facilities. A hot tub in the middle of the hot summer was just not appealing. Breakfast was generous and very good.

I don't comment. the photos speak for themselves at 84 euros a night do it yourself then you can't complain because at 10 pm they all disappear so we talk about it tomorrow!

Dirty shower

The rooms were ok but the shower was desgusting, the door was jammed ,the shower holder broken, the glass filthy.
We also noticed the dirty windows on the hallways, with spiders!
The staff was friendly.

A difficult job travel

I was in Nyirbator for job and had to spend a night in the Palma hotel. I arrived by car to Nyirbator and I tried to call the reception to ask for a parking. No one in the hotel was speaking English. I finally find a park talking with gestures (fortunately I am Italian). The hotel room was very old and the cleaning standard very poor. No soaps were present in the bath (only very small courtesy kit). The breakfast was unbelievable, only 3 choices: egg, sausage and cheese).

2 nights stay

We booked a suite for 2 nights, for the new years eve and 1st of january, which consisted of a large lounge, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and kitchenette. The rooms were dirty, with spider webs on the wall(including near the bed). The walls were flooded recently and there was a strong dampness smell. The bathroom and the kitchenette were clean though. All windows have automatic roll shutters, which helps to keep the sun out. There were tv's in all rooms and bathroom. The bathroom has a jacuzzi. Didn't use it, after we saw the lack of cleanliness in the rest of the suite. The problem with the tv's is the channel list: every channel is dubbed in hungarian and international channels are blocked. The wi-fi works reasonable. The buffet breakfast is served in the dining room, it was simple, but adequate. Another problem is due to the lack of tables. Only 4 tables available so you have every chance at waiting in front of the door to get a table for breakfast. The Palma is located close to the centre of Nyírbátor, so is close to the main shopping area and market. Staff were very friendly. The only things that make me give 2 stars instead of one is the staff and food served at breakfast. Not coming back for sure.
